Just passed through Mountain Home, Idaho and the clerk at the gas station told me there had been a grass fire and the highway had reopened just a few hours before I got there. Anyway, I'm way ahead of scedual so rather than get to my uncle's at 6:00am I'm gonna try to nap at a rest stop and take it slow the rest of the way. Only about 3 hours of drive time left.

I had a MOAB 10 for a while, excellent organization. I couldn't get into the sling pack thing, so I gave it to the wife. If you keep the load out to around 15-20 lbs it should be comfortable for you.

 Thanks for the tip Murph. This bag is going to be the extension of my EDC that I take with me everywhere. First aid kit, extra batteries, lifestraw, more knives ect. It should take about 1.3lbs off my belt / pants for all my EDC stuff :D

Carhartt and Dickies are like Armani for working-class men. Top-notch stuff. I've never been disappointed in their products.

Angie showed me a Carhartt catalog a few weeks ago, and it had some cool traditional Case pocket knives fitted up in their colors/logo. Just sayin'...

I just picked up a 4 person (7x7) tent at Aldi for 18 bucks (it was originally 40, an I found them on fleabay for 65). Its definitely a cheap tent but for less than 20, I couldn't pass it up. The kids can use it in the backyard and we can use it as a gear/play tent when we camp. And it fits perfectly in my living room without moving too much furniture:D

My crafty sister made them for the kids for Christmas last year. We use them all the time. Im trying to have her make me some kid friendly replicas of my beckers:D

they already have replicas of my SAK and EDC gear

that is a really cool picture. I used to camp out in my parents yard every night during the summer. Great memories.

That made me laugh out loud in a good way, and brought back some very happy memories. Being a cool Dad... you're doing it right :)

Thanks. My wife was a lot less freaked out (slight ocd) by me moving just the recliner and setting up a tent than the last time when we moved all the couches, chairs and stripped the blankets off all the beds to make our fort :D

Furniture/bedsheet forts ROCK.

I have extremely fond memories of being about five and my Mom letting me have a refrigerator carton to play with... she plopped that bad boy right down in the middle of the living-room floor and I got to work with scissors and markers and tape and construction paper and everything else I could get my hands on... at various times it was a race car and a rocket-ship and all sorts of good clean fun... ;)

Same here! Dad made me set up our tent all by myself, with his supervision and guidance. Sometimes my pals would spend the night and "camp out" in our yard. Soon he had me set up the tent and other stuff when we went camping "for real". Makes a kid feel proud to learn and be trusted with that sort of thing. Also, it gives the parents more time to chill out while the lil' rascals do all the work :D

I have been lucky enough to make the same thing happen for my daughter and her friends, and it seemed to be just as fun for them as it was for me 25 years ago.

Just got a package from a Beckerhead I traded with. I LOVE THIS KNIFE.....and the lanyards rock!!!

Regrigerator, stove, washer, dryer...all these boxes made great toys...for me as a kid, and for my kids when they were younger.

And apparently the living room fort thing doesn't always wear off when they're young. When my daughter was a student at Texas A&M, she and her roomates made a fort out of living room sofa cushions and one of my old Army woodland camo poncho liners. Oddly enough, alcohol was NOT involved...

Thats awesome OFM4, that is a way cool set up you have there. My 3 yr old daughter is way into building "castles, forts, and camps" out of blankets, pillows and misc furniture. The past couple nights I have had to make her bed into a "tent" to get her to sleep LOL utilizing her canopy and pillows, she is a hoot. She also has taken to a pink SAK classic, and a red streamlight micro stream as her "EDC" when with daddy. Kids are fun.

Today started wonderfully with a migraine, luckily I had some medicine and my wifes assistance so it didnt turn into an all day affair. Always fun.

Yesterday I went through some knives to sharpen and decided my 15 needed an even thinner edge. This is probably the 50th time I have thinned it out. Cuts even better now, pics dont really show it off much, but its a absolute smooth transition from grind to edge.

I also found a pic of the most incredible knife in the world... :D

Thanks! ;)

JD: that came out looking really professional ;)

zuluninja: yours as well....professional bounty hunter, that is. Now, if only you had a real blaster.....you could really hunt some bounty.

thanks! and I do have several blasters, maybe not the laser type, but they blast pretty good... Do I qualify then? :D now, where can I find a Mandalorian jet-pack???

Love the front room camp out OFM! That's awesome!
I'm glad you got yourself a Manix2. Great knife!
