Peasants’ Revolt

Pushing the limits here with this Saladini, but it is a pure friction folder that has a very classical look to it. Inspired by Roman knives. To me it looks fishy :)

Yes Mate...I think it was in an op shop...faux stag.....That's my Peasantry...and although I bought 2 Svord Peasants for my Sons on my 2018 NZ trip I don't own one myself...the infestation of other NZ Svords you see is from subsequent trips....Cheers.

Jack they are great knives...very practical, no messing and built for the Kiwis love of hunting large feral deer...Svord do a couple of lines...the basic and a more jazzy primo line...eg with brass bolster or the antler handle...the Ace in the hole is the Von Tempsky Bowie.
All are made for work.
Mine are souvenirs of my visits to The Land Of The Wrong White Crowd...which is what our Mate and fellow Porchenberger @festerfromnz...called it.

LOL! 😁 I think Fes had a Von Tempsky Bowie didn't he? They certainly look like impressive knives Jon. I only have the folders, which I like. Did you ever visit Fes while you were there? I hope he is doing alright, seemed like a great guy 👍
 
You could argue the case for this CASE. Extremely rugged construction, more or less indestructible handle of Micarta, light in pocket, easy to maintain and would have a long useful life. Everything is expensive these days but it's still within the reach of modest means for those who just want to use a knife...rather than those addicted to buying and owning hordes of knives ;)

 
Coursolle from France ought to count too. Been in action since 1902, no liners, the stamped brass scales are also the liners. Stainless or carbon, a wide variety of themes, many rustic or sporting. The top knife with the bottle opener is in fact single-spring, quite a feat. Inexpensive and pleasant.

 
My mate had this on his tool stall a couple of weeks ago, and while I found it slightly interesting, and it was inexpensive, I didn't want to buy it just to throw in a box under the bed. As it was still there today, I bought it entirely to post here in this thread! 😁 It's very crudely constructed, and Tool Man tells me he has had since he was a small child 60-odd years ago. I'm thinking it might have been brought home by someone returning from Burma, but welcome opinions. Overall length is 11", with a blade length of 6 1/4".
