Just need to Vent.

Don't Understand why So Many Buyers & Sellers won't leave feedback?

I seem to go out of my way to be a good buyer and seller. I pay Very Promptly, I take as many pictures and try to be as conservative as possible in my descriptions. Shipping promptly is super important to me, but in the end after I leave feedback, and Try my damnedest to make sure both parties are happy...No feedback.

What bugs me the most is that this place seems to be a Honest Community. For the most part, every member here has been nothing but kind, thoughtful and super helpful. Isn't the point of feedback just to help solidify the good and extract the bad?

Ive lost close to a dozen, which isn't a lot to most folks here, but I feel like its a slap in the face when I bend over backwards to make sure this Place stays solid. I see people with Feedbacks of 100+ and it makes me wonder how many Feedbacks THEY LOST?!

Regardless, thumbs up to the folks who do leave feedback. I appreciate it.

I know for me at least it's nothing personal , I was having some issues posting feedback on an Android phone . I got it squared away now though and it's all good .

I know for me I don't just go by a number on feedback with dealing with someone because I know feedback doesn't get left .

I'll click the user and check out their posts , I'll also check this section . If the person has 15 for sale threads that are no longer active and a feedback score of 5 ,but no negative threads on them I assume it's just people not leaVing feedback .

On the flip side of that I did a deal with a guy and didn't research him . Guy and myself had a perfect transaction ,he was really good to deal with . However I happened to be scrolling and see about 7 pages of a thread dedicated to how bad of a seller/trader he was , my heart sank and I thought oh no! You idiot my didnt you search the guy first ! It was all good in the end though and it was a very smooth transaction .

It happens. People get busy and other things come up.

What bothers me is when someone has an extremely disproportionate number of feedback left to received. It will hardly ever line up equally but it is kind of lame to have received 75 positives and have only given out 5 positives yourself.

I think it's up to the buyer to leave feedback first, and for the seller to reciprocate after feedback is left. One reason is because it's just a lot simpler to track down the seller's sales thread and leave feedback, rather than trying to track down the buyer (especially when there are multiple buyers for a single sales thread, and some of them communicate just by email, so you might not even see their usernames, etc.).

I think it's a pain to have to write something about a deal that went the way a deal is supposed to go. As a Seller leaving good feedback about a Buyer; how many ways can you say "He sent money, I sent knife"? "Silky smooth transaction." "Like clockwork." etc.

A Buyer has a little more variation on leaving good feedback about a Seller because he can talk about 'communication' and whether the product is 'as represented' and 'prompt shipment' but it is still hard to say something (BS) about a deal that went the way a deal is supposed to go.

When a deal goes wrong there is no problem finding words to describe the transaction but having to come up with fluff when you want to leave positive feedback is a drag.

I don't know what browser you use, but Chrome was nice enough to remember the first time I left feedback for a buyer, and auto-suggests that as soon as I begin typing:

It makes leaving feedback a breeze!

I'm of the opposite mind. I will leave the buyer feedback once I have received payment as they have completed their end of the deal. Whether they leave feedback or not is up to them.

I have no opinion on who should leave it first, but I personally would wait until a buyer let's me know that they got it in hand and are satisfied with the transaction before leaving feedback. Too many variables are still in play during the time the seller receives payment and the buyer gets the item.

That makes sense as well.

Only recently have I started using the exchange more again. I leave feedback when the buyer confirms they are happy with their purchase. The opposite applies when buying, I leave feedback once I am satisfied. I never ask for feedback but a few folks have been kind enough to reciprocate so far.

I have done transactions here and elsewhere long before the feedback system existed. People are generally nice and smart around here. I haven't run into people with truly bad attitudes yet. I also try to make a feedback thread after making several positive deals.

Leaving positive feedback for an easy, successful, and smooth transaction with good communication throughout, is a kind and thoughtful gesture, that promotes community spirit. It's not difficult and takes only a little bit of time and thoughtfulness. It builds trust and encourages future transactions. Pretty simple.

Sign o' the times?
Very few people will hold a door, either.

Holding a door is dangerous now days , you can get your brain scrambled and end up Walking around talking about holding doors so much until you develop your own slang about holding doors...:D

As a seller, I won't leave feedback until the buyer does. It's not a spiteful thing, that's just the only way that I can be assured that they're satisfied with their purchase (i.e. the transaction is complete). As a buyer, if everything goes smoothly, I'll leave feedback after I've had a chance to inspect my purchase. If a problem arises, I'll give the seller an opportunity to rectify the problem before leaving feedback. But if a seller takes a week to get an item shipped, or packages it poorly, or doesn't provide any tracking info, or any number of other minor inconveniences, it's my understanding that it's a faux pas to leave negative feedback for those scenarios, so I just won't leave any. I'm not gonna give a thumbs up for poor service, just because I received an item that I paid for.

Me too. For a long time there I didn't know there was a feedback system... no offense to any folks I forgot!

Yup!! Doesn't take much effort at all. Since I Trader is one of the tools to research members with, it behooves both parties to leave truthful feedback.

Yes it can be a little annoying but just how it is, I just looked at mine and I have left 72 and received 53 I have only ever bought here and never sold. I make a point o leaving feedback for each transaction and, unless I have stuffed up, I believe I have left feedback for every transaction I have been involved in. That said, I get that not everyone's circumstances are the same and sometimes it is just a case of selling and moving on. If there is no issue then there is no further thought.
