People Not leaving Feedback? Irritating!

Yes it can be a little annoying but just how it is, I just looked at mine and I have left 72 and received 53 I have only ever bought here and never sold. I make a point o leaving feedback for each transaction and, unless I have stuffed up, I believe I have left feedback for every transaction I have been involved in. That said, I get that not everyone's circumstances are the same and sometimes it is just a case of selling and moving on. If there is no issue then there is no further thought.

I went and checked my feedback out after reading what you wrote.
I left 144 feedback for others and received 107 feedback from others.
The figures I see under my name that I don't understand is that my feedback shows 73 left from others with 100% positive, 0 left negative feedback, but in another part it shows a total of 109 positive feedback received. I guess not all feedback shows up.

I try to leave feedback and a thank you after each transaction and it looks like I get about 75% return feedback. I guess that's not too bad.

If you buy from the same person on multiple occasions it makes the figures a little different (or that is how I read it) so you will have say 50 positive feedbacks but you bought from 45 people (that is five came from some of the same sellers) then you will have "Positive Feedback from 45 people". Mine is skewered the same way, I think I have positive from about 60 people but 72 positive feedback. If that makes sense. I think is you get about 75% back you are doing OK.

It's just the way it is.....I leave it for everyone, not everyone leaves it for me. I am OK with that.

I never put much depth into iTrader anyway unless it's less than 100%.....Positive feedback is often left by people who didn't exactly have a positive experience, but aren't the type to rock the boat.

I am more interested in what someone I deal with does on this forum and how they participate.

A decent % don't even let you know when they received the knife and are happy with it.

This is what gets me the most! I understand if you forget to leave feedback or something else, but at least let me know the package is in your possession. I don't get it....

I can't recall ever NOT leaving feedback whether as a buyer or seller. I'm at 27 received and 38 left for others right now. I don't mind too much, I just realize that's the way the world goes. The hard part is when you're new and trying to build up some feedback so that folks are confident to deal with you. Those first ten were brutal :D

I've only received feedback on about half my transactions. Just the way it goes it seems.

I've gotten feedback for maybe a quarter of my transactions.

^ Wow- that's pitiful! :thumbdn: Most people here already know: Lone_Wolfe, is one of thee most solid, reputable, respectable member's here on BF! I've always had the utmost respect for the way you interact & do business (regardless of us having never done business).

FWIW: I've received 294 feedback ratings, & left feedback for 338 of my transaction. I tried to always leave feedback for the member's I did business with. There were a few however, that I deliberately chose not to, because they didn't deserve a positive feedback rating.

I admit it, I don't leave feedback.
I have a few times I think, I'm not even sure if I remember how :-)
Others leave me feedback, I never ask for it, I don't personally require it.
Even when they leave feedback, I don't
I realize it's a reciprocity thing, I get it.

Of course I'm concerned about my reputation, but I don't require the feedback, I've earned and continue to earn my solid reputation in other ways.

Edit -
I just left some feedback because I thought the guy who bought something was very honorable in the deal and had high integrity
that kind of felt good :-)

Just checked my numbers, I have left 74 and received 63 so I guess I should be happy with those results. I think the majority who don't leave it either don't know how to or are too lazy.

Really ? It is just a nice thing to do . Maybe you don't need it but maybe others would like it . I for one do .

I have to say I am Guilty of it. I started this Thread and I completely forgot to Leave feedback for 2 sellers. One seller, just emailed me after I put the knife I JUST bought from him Back up on the forum. Needed to make some space for a knife I just bought, he PM'ed me to make sure everything was okay with our transaction, because I never emailed him to tell him the knife arrived OR Never left him a feedback.

So Shame on me, Im SUPER happy a fellow member just put me back in line. I'm all caught up on feedbacks now. Sorry guys. Im an Idiot. :)

I used to care if people left me feedback. Now that I'm above 30 or so, I don't really care anymore, at all. I always reciprocate though. I get how it might matter a lot more to someone who is trying to build their rep.

As far as who should leave it first... I think that the seller should, but only after the buyer informs him that he is happy with the knife and the deal. I see feedback as the closure to the transaction. Once it's left, it's complete.

Im at 13 feedbacks, and 25 left. Im trying to get to 30 as well. But the way it looks...It's going to be a bit before I get to 30.

I used to write Buyers or Sellers to remind them to write a Feedback, but It never worked. Usually if they don't write a Feedback, No amount of reminders will cause them to write one back....disappointing. At that point I feel like "Why did I RUSH to the Post office before they closed at 5pm to get someone's knife out....?"

Who should leave it first? The seller, as soon as he receives payment from the buyer. The buyer has fulfilled his part of the deal. If anything goes wrong after that, take it to GBU.

I respect your opinion, but I view things differently. I can give one example from my limited experience here, I listed a Benchmade Harley Davidson knife for sale here a while back and clearly stated in my ad that this particular knife would not come with it's original HD microfiber bag or HD booklet, but I would include standard BM labeled substitutes. I even took a picture of the knife sitting next to these substitutes. Well when the buyer received the knife, he sent me some emails that came off to me as being on the verge of a temper tantrum because he wanted the original HD stuff. To make a long story short, I went ahead and took the HD stuff from another knife I have and sent it to him on my dime just to be done with him. Now that may not be a scenario that warrants negative feedback, but it's most definitely, IMO, not one that is deserving of positive feedback.

I really don't care who is 1st, but I like to wait until the buyer lets me know he has received the knife before giving him full credit for being a good buyer. It is part of the communication process (and that is a 2 way street). To me if he fails that, he is not deserving of the credit. Not deserving of anything negative either-mistakes happen.
At least this is the way I like to do it, others can make their own decisions as to when to give it.

I have also had a person say I'll take it, pay and then 14 hrs. latter as I am headed out the door to mail it, start to go back into the decision portion of the process. So giving them credit at payment seems a bit early to me. They can still turn out to be screw ups.

On ebay, I agree with you. Here the easiest way is for the buyer to go back to the sales thread and click Rate Seller from there. That's how I let the seller know and leave my feedback at the same time. Then the seller can click on the link in the automated email they get, and return the feedback. Easier way I know of, so that's what I do.
