persian love?

I love Persian blades. They have a very 'old' vibe to them. I also cannot get enough of Persian food. LOVE it!!!

Definitely a big fan of Persian and kwaiken/aka Japanese blade styles. I have 3 Brous blades (Vendetta, Sniper and the VR-71), as well as the Benchmade 860 and Bad Blood Persian which are both basically folding scimitars. Hassaaaaaaan chop!

How do they not have any "edc" practicality? An upswept point is a blade shape that has been around for centuries.

Exactly. In the west it is much like a trailing point which is one hell of a fantastic general use blade shape.

for my edc needs the tip of the knife often has to penetrate first before cutting and an upswept blade makes this awkward, There's a reason why box cutters don't have upswept blades.
There's nothing wrong with liking this blade shape, but you should be honest with yourself and realize that it's not well suited to the daily cutting tasks that people encounter nowadays.

You are projecting your needs on to others. What you mean is "Some look nice, but don't have any edc practicality for me that I can see so I don't own any" and "it's not well suited to the daily cutting tasks that I encounter". You must be careful passing off your opinion as fact for other people.

Yep nothing worse than a pointy sharp knife. That's how you cut yourself!

One of my favs.

Okay I confess; I love Persians too. I've got the Emerson Persian, the Benchmade Bedlam, the original Spyderco Persian, the Boker flipper Persian and the giant Cold Steel Talwar Persian. Unfortunately I've never learned how to post pictures.

I wish I had better photos of it, my cell phone pictures don't do it justice.

Maybe not but I'm drooling none the less. That knife is everything I love about the Persian style. Was that a one off you designed?
