Wood type on the Prevex?

I just got my first David Mary knife (literally, David's knife lol - he was kind enough to sell me the knife off his belt).

I am very impressed with this design. The knife immediately bullied its way right to the front of my EDC rotation, and hasn't come off my belt since. It has one of the best "in hand" feels of any knife I own. The handle shape and thickness, as I think someone said upthread, are perfect for extended use. The knife is a BURLY chunk of 3V, so I know it will handle abuse, yet its heft belies its quickness In hand and excellent balance. The blade shape, angle, and edge geometry make for an almost perfect (IMO) self defense knife, to go along with the utility offered by the thick stock, tough steel, and full flat grind. The angle also allows for a very comfortable IWB carry, despite it being a bigger knife.

So anyhow, I have a user, but I'm thinking about commissioning another, "Sunday Best" Prevex with maybe Bocote scales. Wondering if that's whats in this pic. Looks like it?

Excellent review. A powerful knife indeed. I plan to end up with all 4 sizes one day. Bocote is my favorite wood 🪵

The Prevex has one size. I believe you are thinking of the Prevail. So far only one man I am aware of has been entrusted with the earth shattering power of all four sizes of the Prevail family knives. If another joins that rank, I'm afraid for what it could mean for molecules everywhere.

New knife day! 🥳
Thanks David, I love it! You'll be seeing it all the time on the forum as it'll force my ARK into retirement.

2.5 Necker. I think this blade shape needs a name. Looks like a shark took a bite off the spine. Might go with "Shark-Bite".

Now I'm dreaming of a sword/machete with a full edge length of these shark bites -- large concave scallops entirely serrated. Truly, an "inception" of serrations 🤔
