Gotcha. I wonder if anyone ordered standard.

Good Q. I saw some order that had just stated antique micarta but I don't think that the standard version is going to be available so I guess that the term is being used semantically for the edge-cut version. To me, the edge-cut is both more attractive and also grippier.

I didn't specify edge cut, but honestly I didn't know to at the time. Maybe I should email Jo and make sure.

The antique micarta is very old surplus from a ship builder who used it as a bearing material at one time. The material, as I received it, is already a machined shape. I can slab it up in any way, but I orient it the way I do because I like the way it looks that way. I did some flat grain orientation at first simply because that's the "normal" way of doing it, but I do it all edge grain now.

Thanks for sharing Phil, it's rare to see the vintage micarta in a standard cut.:thumbsup:

The EDC is the only one in standard cut. I got that one in a trade a few months ago. The LC & FK are edge cut. Between the dim lighting and my modest camera skills, they look darker and lacking in depth of character compared to what you see in person. I'll work on that in future photos.

Thanks,

Phil

Nah Phil the pics are fine. I’m familiar with the material, I have lots of it here at home. I see it all the time!

Thanks again!
