• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

The original Loveless Chute with holes (requested by Harry Archer/CIA for pole lashing) first came about in 1972 in Lawndale. The one here was made in mid to early 1974, very soon after the move to Riverside, Ca. It was so specifically dated by John Denton and Steve Johnson because once the move to Riverside happened, they only continued to use the old sheath stamp (Loveless - maker) until the new sheath stamp was received (Loveless - maker - Riverside), a period of probably a couple months. The holes were removed as part of the design late in '74 or early '75.

What is most noticeable about this particular Loveless chute is the doublewide bolster, as well as the lignum vitae scales - and a brass strip inlaid into the top of the tang to be used to engrave an owner's name, though it was left blank. So yeah, it is a one of a kind.

Given that the DEF is such an awesome weapon, it made sense to display the two of these together.
