……but I’ll try…..Left to Right in that pic

1. Tumbled 3V with textured brown and black G10
2. Horizontal Satin A2 with quilted black canvas
3. Tumbled 3V with smooth brown and black G10
4. Cerakote A2 with quilted black canvas
5. Tumbled A2 with textured brown and black G10

7. Cerakote 3V with textured brown and black G10

Number five looks like an acid wash at a glance, but I believe it is a dark tumbled finish that Nathan is able to achieve with A2 as he did on the ten inch integral daggers. He explained the process to me once, but I was so star stuck to be speaking with him that I didn’t really pay attention to what he said. Once we locked eye, all I could do is swoon. Jo will back me up.

The womens are home now, so the day of playing with, wiping down and photoing knives is over, but I got these LCs lined up before it was so rudely interrupted…..

*The Westinghouse RLC is one of four knives with scales made from the same block of verified Westinghouse micarta, that were made individually over the course of a couple years. They are the only knives scaled with that material as it was all consumed in making those four knives. I don’t believe Nathan ever intended to make them as a “set”, but they are, unofficially, “The Westinghouse Knives”, at least to me and possibly some others. They were scattered to the wind, but with a little effort and a lack of fiscal responsibility, all four were reunited, putting the set back together as they should be and it is how they will remain. I will try and show them when I have another opportunity to get some worthy shots.

Sometimes I think I have a decent stash of Cpk stuff, then I see portions of Marc's vault.
I'll have to take solace in the fact that I have a large KOD piece of my own to swing around. If the light is just right, the stars align, and the atmosphere appropriately lubricated, I may even penetrate something with it.

One day I'd love to know the full extent of that giant list you have, Marc.

I consider myself very fortunate, Dave. On a few occasions I was just simply in the right place at the right time, be it placing well in an open sale or seeing something listed on the exchange before someone else did. More often than that however, I placed horribly in those sales or just missed seeing something sold that we would have both pounced on given the chance.

So really, the things I have been able to acquire have been through relationships fostered here on the sub. Sometimes I have reached out expressing interest in something someone has. At the same time, guys have reached out to me when they are looking to get rid of something and I have been very lucky when that happens.

I don’t think I have ever tried to beat anyone up on a price, which I think helps. I either accept what they are offering or I respectfully decline. If there is question as to what something is worth, I try to give a very detailed description of how and why I come up with the values of things. I like to think that position has helped me more than it has hurt me, even though I can recall a few knives that I could have ended up with had I haggled a little bit.

Lastly, I try to keep the karma up just in case it helps. I pretty much stopped selling CPKs on the exchange several years ago. Instead, I’ll keep an eye out for when someone is looking for something that I may have a few of. I have back channel put guys together with some of the retired models at the makers price or below whatever the current secondary may be. Some of those deals have resulted in them coming back to me with something down the road. Again, I think this practice has helped put me in positions that I would otherwise have not known about.

Most importantly, there is nothing about what I may have that should diminish how anybody feels about what they have. If you have one CPK, you have something that I will appreciate. Believe me, there are guys out there with only a few knives that I would love the chance to have something out of there collection. I am sure you have plenty of things that I would find more than desirable.

I have historically not really shown anything I have gathered in the past. I am not looking for attaboys, to show off and certainly not to make anyone jealous. That said, I plan to try and share a bit more of the CPKs I am lucky to care for moving forward. There are two reasons for this. First, some friends here have good heartedly ribbed me for a while now about never showing anything or even talking much about them. So, I need to shut these assholes up. Second, Nathan and company have made some truly amazing knives and I am coming around to the idea that I should show them rather than hide them. The work they have done should be shown when I am able to do it in a manner worthy of the subject manner. I will try to do my best going forward.

With all that said, any of you guys got anything you wanna get rid of?
