That's a big stump.

Yes... Two big stumps actually.
I had two large Chestnut Oaks on the back of our property just outside the fence line but close enough to the house that if they ever fell over it would have caused some major damage.
We took them down a couple of years ago. (I also had a large Red Oak in the front that actually did fall over and partly struck and damaged our house prior to taking down these two.)

Thank you, Bill!

🤔 I have never heard of Odies Oil…
As it stands I have a whole bottle of Shellac and true oil so when those run out I will try Odies. Thank you for the recommendation!

😊👍

I really like the stuff. I have refinished a couple tables with it, worked great. I’ve treated a few of my CPK’s with it, steel and micarta, came out nice.

There wasn’t the option for AECM when I ordered my SDFK or SS SDFK so I had to take it upon myself to make my “own.”

This bog oak was a trip. They broke during the making of, I somehow mis-drilled/ some strange occurrence of possible warping (they’re stabilized!) which caused other issues…
Anywho. I like’em.

Here is pic of them broken. The last time I almost cried as a grown man was when my son was born. This was almost my second time.

JACKMANDU JACKMANDU

I don't know about you, but at a certain age, or degree of shoulder wear and tear, a high mount under the arm, strong side or cross draw, may be fine for concealment under a garment, but pretty dang uncomfortable to draw from. (Speaking for myself, of course.)

I remember the days when it wasn't, but now, lower riding is better...and AIWB or anything from the hip bones forward is far less aggravating to these shoulders which have earned a breather after years of use and abuse.

Oh, man, Brie on rye, never thought of it, that's got me Pavlov-in' over here, gotta try some!

To brie, or not to brie...

- Hamlet, King of Camembert
Definitely, brie. Also, I just realized proper names of cheeses are not capitalized (and this one is actually a place name, too). How can this be?!? My brain will explode if I can't reconcile this soon!
