I hear you. I keep thinking I can IWB carry knives, and it’s just never comfortable. I tinker around in the garage with different attachments and I always go back to something OWB. The tecloc rides too high for me, so I usually do the 2 pull the dot snaps method.JACKMANDU
I don't know about you, but at a certain age, or degree of shoulder wear and tear, a high mount under the arm, strong side or cross draw, may be fine for concealment under a garment, but pretty dang uncomfortable to draw from. (Speaking for myself, of course.)
I remember the days when it wasn't, but now, lower riding is better...and AIWB or anything from the hip bones forward is far less aggravating to these shoulders which have earned a breather after years of use and abuse.
Ummm...it's not the knives we're tired of seeing...Expect to get tired of seeing this GEM now that she has some pants to wear![]()
Back in the day... I always preferred Heileman's "Special Export"
I like my knives like I like my Zoom calls - no pants. But with some pants nearby, just in case. Your last picture illustrates this beautifully.
Not familiar. Assume its discontinued? First I had the original was at Wrigley back when nobody liked em and tickets were basically free. Not many carry it around here (3hrs east of Chi) but I know where to goBack in the day... I always preferred Heileman's "Special Export"
Yes, I think so... Heileman's was very popular in the bars around Chicagoland back when it was still an independent brewery. I used to drink Special Ex fairly often back when I was in High School and College. (late 70's/early 80's).Not familiar. Assume its discontinued? I...uh...well....come to think of it, it did feel a little creepy in those woods. And what beast's eyes are peering out of the ice in the lower right corner? What have you done?

In the Pen they use em as currency. But you probably already knew that![]()
Nice job on those pics. I agree it can be hard to capture maroon micarta well in pics.Maroon linen micarta scales on black liner can almost look black in low light conditions. They are not particularly easy at capturing their true color in photos.
I thought I'd try to take some snaps today in brighter sunlight. Just the scales (all buffed) L to R - HDFK, LC, MC:
