Just curious, as they seem... unused to anything weapon like over there; any comments about a knife that size?

Heck, even here, some folks will look at me weird for a something the size of an FK2, much less the MC (despite the fact that the MC is for trips to the boonies).

No comments, but I don't know that anyone saw the knife.

You can carry whatever knife you want in NZ as long as you have a "reasonable purpose" for doing so. Importing a knife (i.e. bringing a knife into the country) is where you run into lots of restrictions.
