Photos! Post your CPK photos here!

Thank you Jo the Machinist Jo the Machinist for selling me some sets of fancy new hardware and these vintage crunchy corncob colored canvas(?) scales! Nathan the Machinist Nathan the Machinist I like the very edges along the black liner that still show the previous exposed color, that rich brown/red. Very cool material here! The new blue torx go great with the old ECAM too and is only further solidifying that this FK2 “Bad idea” is my favorite CPK.

Those vintage IP (International Paper) Micarta scales look good but I must admit the coloring is somewhat different than what I was expecting. It will be interesting to see if the material will age and darken with use and exposure to light over time... kind of like the way Osage Orange wood scales do?

Did you request your sample shown above on the Signature SDFK as buffed or unbuffed?

Ooh, thanks for sharing. I really like that vintage micarta with blued Ti hardware. Gives me ideas for my next EDT (everyday toy)...

They should darken up, Nate had posted some pics of the sheets of this material and the outside layers were much more of a reddish/brown color, you can see it at the bottom of the scales where the black liner meets. I had requested buffed but it’s kind of hard to tell in the pics. I’m curious though what the unbuffed looks like.

Can’t do it, we have already had a butterscotch micarta in the past and it is quite a bit different material. Now, it is doubtful the few butterscotch knives that are out there are going to turn up, but we probably shouldn’t aid in any confusion.

If we have to have a name for it, how about VIP micarta for vintage International Paper?

Crunchy corncob canvas was a good name I thought 😭

From my invoice…

Maximus, I hope that your hereing is better than your righting :p
I blame the autocorrect on my stupid 'better' Samsung S22 Ultra.

My old S8 simply autocorrected for spelling errors (hitting the wrong keys) to the closest word. I have caught the darned AI on this S22 Ultra literally substituting a correctly spelled word for what the Artificial Idiocy (I prefer the old term 'fuzzy logic' cuz I swear, this thing's AI is fuzzy AF) 'thinks' would be a better word (or apparently thinks I want to, or should, say instead). Friggin nanny bot 2.0 🙄

It's like those old comedies where the old couple has the wife constantly 'correcting' what the husband says, even when it's not what he meant to say. Didn't marry one of those. Paid $$$ to have a stupid phone doing it. 😝

Hmmm... any pics of what the previous Butterscotch looks like?

Casinostocks Casinostocks

Maximus needs to receive a fair hearing...(lend him our ears?) (However, I do think he doth protest too much.)

...and Michael, that is not like any butterscotch I've come across...unless it's fortified with tomato.
Keep ur tomatoes outta my butterscotch, Mr. !!! 🤣

In my defense, I did write, “just for fun.”
