And beat me at rock, paper, scissorsFor people wondering what I had to do to get it, I had to treat Tanto's latest case of antibiotic resistant gonorrhea
I wish I had never seen this amazing awesome knife that I hate with a seething rage that burns hotter than the sun...because I can't have one! So...many....mixed emotions...tearing apart...my soul!View attachment 2489981View attachment 2489982View attachment 2489983
Hi All,
This one recently arrived from the CPK home. Multiple photos to try to make up for my poor photo skills. The sheath is a Paul Long spare that I had.
The HDFK is one of my favorite designs, and this one just puts it over the top, for me - satin finish, Mark’s fine 14” hollow grind, Nathan’s favorite, the bowie grind, and some very nice antique micarta scales, no doubt applied by Jo. I couldn’t be more thrilled. Thank you! And thank you all, for looking. Mike

In all seriousness, that thing is fantastic! That's my dream knife that I never knew existed!
That one is as close to a literal unicorn horn as you get. I'm stoked you got it! Awesome to see it in the wild.Thank you! I’ve felt this way about many a CPK knife.![]()
Thank you! Very much appreciated. MikeThat one is as close to a literal unicorn horn as you get. I'm stoked you got it! Awesome to see it in the wild.
Thank you, Phil. What a great summary. I appreciate it. As you say, it all works well together. When I first saw a photo of the knife, I didn’t realize that it had the bowie grind, just because it is fairly mild and blends in well.^^ Beautiful knifeMike157 . I’ll admit that like
Nathan the Machinist , I am not a big fan of Bowie style blades. With that said, I would make an exception for that one. All the details came together seamlessly starting with Mark’s exceptional grinds and all the others finishing details plus a great set of old batch ECAM scales. I like that the modifications enhanced rather than erased the HDFK heritage. Combined with the handsome Paul Long sheath, you truly have an heirloom package there. Congratulations on the epic score.
Phil
That freaked me out for a minute because my name is Phil. I was like, "how the hell does he know my name?"Thank you, Phil. What a great summary. I appreciate it.
