Amazing pictures in this thread! Does anyone have a photo of what the VIP scales look like as they darken? I find them too light to begin with for my personal taste but I’m curious what color they drift to after time and use. Thanks!
I’ve gone back about 20 pages but only saw ones that had that darkened layer from the mothership. I was curious if there were any where the full scale had darkened or if that takes decadesLook at the back of this thread, starting last page going backwards, lots of pics of the VIP both Crunchy (exposed to air and elements, thus darker) & non-crunchy, a lighter, almost watered down peanut butter color (that will darken with time and exposure to crunchy color).
Sorry, folks - I did not see a dedicated BFK thread, aside from sale threads and a couple of review ones. If there is such a thread and I missed it, please let me know and I will have this one merged.
In my mind, this knife feels a lot different than the FK2 - enough that I feel it warrants it's own thread for folks to share their thoughts, experiences, and the like. I wasn't going to get one of these knives at first, as I was certain that the FK2 fills that particular niche and does so superbly. Gotcha! I didn’t realize they were so new. You got a great set and man will they look outstanding when the transformation is completeThey are a brand new product this year, the non exposed VIP (since milling) hasn’t had a chance to change colors yet.

This is non crunchy. Note the darkening of the scales at the rear due to exposure (luck of the draw/cut).
