Are those claw marks/scars or just the way the tree grew?

Yep, they're claw marks. I had a bear treed in that quaking aspen, so there's some fresh climbing marks on the other side, but these are old claw marks from a territorial type marking. I thought they were way cool the way they stood out against the white bark so I had to snap a few shots.

You win! you win the best photo for these knives. Some give the man a BC.

Omg those look good. How did you do that?

I saw some ribs on sale today and wanted to buy them but chickened out as I don't know how to do them right.

Shilling for oneself causes temporary restriction of one's manscard and the resulting punishment will be guzzling of room temp warm beer!

Crap. I hate warm beer. But if that's the punishment I guess I'll have to take my medicine :D

All the fixed blade I would ever need.

RLC, and FK in my favourite synthetic handle combo, antique micarta, edge cut on a black micarta liner.

Could I choose of any of the options and have them magically appear, I would ask for the combinations you have pictured there Justin. Just beautiful  Congratulations on owning them.

Justin, just find the right place that makes 'em, buy 'em and eat 'em!! God, I love good ribs but I, like you, cannot duplicate really good ribs.

If I had to pick one handle material to use to put together a set, or had only one knife, in both cases I would pick the antique micarta material. I have had several CPKs handled in it, it's the best, most beautiful, words fail. But I try to stick as much as I can to my "calling", which is to see others who are trying to build a set in a certain handle material and need something I have.

When I notice such a situation, I make contact and invariably, I furnish the person with one of my favorite pieces - at original cost. The last time was about a week ago. A D3V FK with the same outstanding edgecut antique micarta (the very one with the butterscotch micarta shown in the antique micarta thread) went bye bye in a trade. His original cost vs my original cost, and we both agreed the $15 difference was too small to matter. He got exactly what he wanted and I lost one of my favorites. But he knew what he wanted - and more importantly knew what I wanted in trade. I lost a beauty, but gained one, too. He felt the same way. It was perfect trade.

Great pieces, Justin!
