I contacted this member as soon as the knives I bought from him arrived. The "Red"( black scales painted red
) grips blade was supposed to have a nice acid etch on it, the thing is just beat to death. Looks grinded on, polished, and the black sooty acid parts just wipes off dry or even more with moisture. From the two pics he has in his thread looked modded but had no idea was this bad.
Also on the milled aluminum?(I'm guessing, he doesn't know either) scaled grip. Knife is pretty descent gotta say. Blade was new, everything feels solid, smooth. Negatives---Blade play even atfer applied locktite yesterday (pivot I think just doesn't sit right) AND (and this is what really threw me. It has some type type of marker or cheap paint rubbed outside and inside of the scales. I asked Keegan what this stuff was . He told me he didn't know cause got them that way from a seller on ebay. I very much had my doubts cause having cheap marker/paint rub off on your customers hands I doubt you would be in business very long. Oh he also told me it was an anodization which it clearly is not because I took a qtip with water and rubbed inside the scales where most of the blue stuff is and it rubs off.
I contacted him same day I got the knives and told him "hey man want to return these knives. They are severly not as described and I just don't want them". He told me too call him ( didn't want to do that because he has a bad reputation on other knife sites as being a scammer and afraid would do something with the phone number). I told him I will even pay for the return shipping and he could take money out for the cost for him shipping. Refused, refused, refused. Kept trying to tell me it's my fault. Told me I should have asked more questions before I bought them. Said all of his other customers were happy and I was just a bad egg out of the bunch. News flash Keegan, most of your other customers bought new knives and you didn't have to go into details on the blades they bought explained in detail since they weren't modded or painted. It's the sellers responsiblity to explain the condition of knife for sale. I told him I have bought many knives and the only time I have had to send something back is when I bought a knife that the scales had been dipped in pen ink and I could not tell that from the pics.
(wasn't from BF). Anyways he just kept saying you can't return the knives. I was screwed because I paid him with gift and am hesitent to send the knives back to him anyways cause honestly don't trust him for his rep and way he was handling this.
Then he says well you can return the "REd" grip but not the other.
So yesterday I just said screw it I'll accept them and maybe can fix them up and told Keegan that.
This morning. I looked at this "Red" grip and realize there are black scratches? Looked more closely and the red is just painted on! Globs of paint inside the liners and the inside in some parts is shading black. See when I first got it I thought the small specs of black on scales was from something black that just got rubbed on it so never gave it a second thought until the red paint just scraped off this morning.
Was happy to get a "RED Grip" cause never seen one that I can think of except for the Grip trainers.
So the red paint is the last straw. I'm a very frustrated unhappy buyer here. Keegan gave you every chance to correct yourself and you still didn't tell me all the /truth/facts about these knives. I want to return them too you and have you pay for the return shipping with sig conformation since honestly don't trust you. I want you to tell why you didn't explain all this in the sales thread or to me after I contacted you.
Sorry Keegan but done talking to you though email. I want to send these back and for you to explain yourself.
Here's descripitive pics of the knives and link to sales thread.
Black showing on the "Red" grip this morning and horrible blade.
