Thank you!! I can't tell you how much I appreciate the voice of reason. Please view my comments in particular the one I just made as I've done absolutely everything I can to make it right with this guy (while still standing up for myself and not being "screwed over" for lack of better term in having to take back a knife someone has already messed up.) And before taking this stance please note I asked a BF mod if it was appropriate as shown above in my communications with rev and went off of his response. Had he told me tough luck, take it back and refund him anyway, as I said in my PM, out of respect for this forum and its members I would have done so without complaint. And I'm not trying to put you in the middle of this rev I am sorry. I just need it to be known that I'm trying the best I can to follow yours guys rules.
This post, was the voice of reason over on page 3. This entire transaction has been bad from the start, and it got exponentially worse from that point. Being bombarded with one PM after another, after another, after yet another is not the way to resolve the issues that happened here. You are communicating with the wrong person, and need to communicate with the person(s) actually involved and affected by the deal. No moderator can or should instruct what to do without complete information, it would be very irresponsible. If you want someone to have that level of involvement, you should provide any and every communication publicly, otherwise how can anyone in their right mind make a "good" call?
I told Keegan clearly and in no uncertain terms to so something to make this right, I did not specify "what" and it was obviously left up to him. I told Ulf that I would contact Keegan and get some communication going in both directions. This was since bother people involved were unable to communicate with one another. If they fail to discuss what should be done and choose to threaten one another with posting the communications that did in fact transpire between them, then it's a wash. Nothing any mod can really do beyond that, and expecting much more is unrealistic by any standards.
Both individuals have a bit of a public history of sorts and it is not a secret, clearly nothing was uncovered that was not already public knowledge. Again, if something goes wrong somewhere else, it needs to be handled wherever it originated. I addressed the heads up I received and read on my own later with a private message. It is a very unreal expectation to place on us as mods to resolve
your mistakes, miscommunications, or lack of common sense. No thanks. No one needed our help to get the deal done, so it stands to reason that you should be able to resolve this matter like the 2 adults that you are. The old saying, "You got yourself into this mess, now get yourself out" comes to mind.
For future reference, if you buy something make sure you want it and know what you are buying before you toss your money across the web. If you receive an item, and you decide to try and "fix" something you perceive as wrong, you should report dissatisfaction to the seller immediately and work it out, this forum should be the last resort. The rules are clear, and to the point regarding how deals should be conducted. If you need more guidance or advice then maybe the simple act of a transaction should be avoided until a better understanding of what the expectations are is obtained.
When any moderator has to continually warn, PM, or otherwise advise someone on what should be basic common sense behavior, then there is something obviously wrong.
We are now done with this. Closed.
