Black Cherry is in the top two photos. The name sounds great; probably the best name of them all. But, as far as color, all I see is BLACK. And black sawcut bone is not attractive like ebony wood.

On the opposite end of the color spectrum, undyed white sawcut bone is just strange. That is why you never see it, not because it is rare or desirable.

Dark Red is always a winner. I have not noticed any unattractive pink spots on GEC’s Sawcut BLOOD RED, certainly not on any that have passed through my hands. Plus, I have no doubt that Charlie will be able to work with GEC to guarantee an extra dye bath or a longer dye bath or whatever it takes to get that rich RED color.

Anyone who wants color, but is afraid of pink, might want to consider those Copperhead/Dark Chestnut/Antique Yellow Sawcuts in the middle. Can’t go wrong there. This is no doubt our best bet to get a gorgeous knife without taking a risk that anyone would receive a less than attractive example. Each and every one will look great.

They might be in the category named brown, but COPPERHEAD and the DARK CHESTNUTS are certainly not boring. Black, on the other hand, is not very interesting at all. Finally, I really want to like GEC's new color, Dark Brewed Brown, just as I want to like Black Cherry but they not very exciting for a Forum Knife.

This is a dress Barlow due to large size and fancy bolsters, so, as we are emphasizing it’s rustic nature through sawcut handles, we must emphasize its dressiness through RED covers. Something deep and saturated and eye-catching!

White sawcut will just look dirty, and brown/sepia/tan/etc will look cheap on a knife like this.
(JMHO of course ;)

I cast my vote for BROWN... Antique Yellow to be exact... Trying to counterbalance all the votes for Pink 😱

My choice has not changed. I favor red and have had good success with GEC's red sawcut in the last few years - I'd love to add the forum knife in red sawcut to my modest collection (please pay the soup bone no mind).

Both of these colors make my heart sing.
I voted red because I don’t have a red.
There’s something about that, what could we call it... chiaroscuro, that just really gets me.

I voted for a nice dark pink, some people call it red. I will admit that I am disappointed that glitter was not an option. Yes, I said dark pink. Think about it; we get pink by taking red and making it lighter, typically with white. So if pink is in reality just a really light shade of red then the reverse is also true. Red is just pink that has been darken up so it is now dark pink. 🤗 :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

I highly recommend voting for brown, and here’s why... “5-6 choices later!”.
So many options!

you vote any of the others and who knows? Maybe you don’t get that shade you wanted. But 5-6 shades? Much better odds.

Brown is just so boring! The world needs another brown handled knife about as much as it needs a new pandemic. Go with a vibrant exciting color! Ferrari doesn’t paint their cars brown, no they go with exciting colors! Come on, vote red. You know that you want to! This year’s forum knife will be like the Ferrari of forum knives when we go red.😎😎😎😎

Maybe I missed it, but which category covers hemlock green bone? It seems like blood red is gaining steam and I might be persuaded to change my mind.
Not sure if it has been officially categorized yet. It's part red, part brown, part green...so I say let one of those categories win, and lobby to have Hemlock added to it for the next round. Don't tell anyone about this plan🤫
