Thank you, and you're more than wilkommen. It's fun to take something already made (and made well) and see what you can get using only subtraction. Your designs and this subforum have really made an impact on my life, and it is a thrill to have you make commentary. Thank you for your kind words.

Very interesting WIP thread with good detail photos. Excellent work!
Good to hear from you! I've been thinking about your exemplary work as I've been doing this mod.....and hoping your physical difficulties have abated somewhat. I'm having some problems with tendinitis myself and have a visit to the orthopedic doc scheduled next Friday - on my way up to the Gathering.
I'd venture to guess I speak for a lot of us here when I say I hope that you're feeling well enough to work on your WIP's and we get to see some more photos of your work!

Your posts are always a pleasure........ If I scroll your name I always check out what you say.......

That is one of the coolest mods I have ever seen! Great work!
Can't wait to see the finished piece.

Needs more jimping.

Kidding. Very nice work indeed, looking forward to seeing the finished product.

bit of a shark knife there. i like it.

Hi Granite, I have been doing some drawing, wood and metal restoration on two antique rifles as well as some metal work on my Becker projects and regrinding some of my own designs. My two Wharncliffe knives are nearing completion of hand polishing. The last few weeks major roof repair have dominated everything. I am getting revved up following the work you, and others are doing.

Hopefully you will see it this weekend.
Looks like it is turning out really well. Congrats.
Thanks, Ray.

Thanks, HH. I'd like to invite you to add a little of your work and expertise to our Beckerhead Knifemaking and Modification thread.

Gorgeous work man!

HE LIVES!!!
Thanks, Ark! Hey, if you haven't noticed some of us will be in NH this weekend......a nod's as good as a wink to a blind man, nudge nudge....

I am sure you know your stuff (telling by the tools you have around) but just in case... make sure to wear a respirator when sanding the home made micarta. I don't think you are going to grow a third arm but for sure so much crap in the air is not doing any good to your lungs. I have done my share of home made micarta and I try to do all the rough shaping (belt grinder) outside.

Other than this safety warning, great job!

Thanks, friend...I have a NIOSH respirator that I use for any kind of grinding, fiberglass or steel. I also built a dust collector hood for the grinder that is attached to a shop vac with a CleanStream (GoreTex-like) filter that captures MOST of the dust (connected to the bandsaw as well). Here in NH the weather window for working outside is kinda short, though I did the layup in the garage. I do my best to collect the $#!+ before it's in the air, although it's really only a 90% solution. The seriously dusty tools (even WITH dust collection) are in the garage: Miter saw, tablesaw and 4x36 belt/disc. Someday I'll have an isolated shop and do a better job of dust collection.
It's always good to be reminded, tho; better still to explain and consider if my plan is good and working well, or if there is room for improvement. Thanks for the opportunity. And the compliment.
