Those are some beautiful scales on an awesome knife. Looks great.
Thanks for sharing.

I've had this material for a while now.
But, I have had no time to use it! I made these today.
Can you see the texture on these?
It feels like felt! It's hard to get a lot of the detail to show in the pics with this light.

Keyman, what is this exotic material?? I am intrigued to say the least. Did you machine it or do the work by hand?? I really have to try making scales myself. Im always inspired by this thread. Cheers to all the craftsman out there doing their thing

my attempt at making some knives personal. I have the pictures in other threads, but I thought this is a nice thread to show them in.

I haven't finished these scales yet, they are still rough and lack the finishing treatments. it's a benchmade 580 barrage.

It's called Damagrip.
This particular pattern they call Desert Raindrop.
It's a type of canvas micarta that is sold by one of the on line knife supply company's.
Scales were made all by hand, with hand tools. No CNC.

Here is my OD-1 with polished blade and orange standoffs. Still working on the scale although can't seem to get the clearance right with the flipper mechanism

Darken the clip on Sanrenmu 763 and Enlan EL02. Cut the spine to 'wave' them. Freehand sharpen and strop/polish the blade.

EL08 had the clip removed and nothing else.
