The little guy looks so cute and cuddly. I need to check one of those out someday. Nice pair.

OK, you got me, Mr X. What are those two? They certainly look like they mean business!

Medford Praetorian T and Micro-Praetorian T. Contrary to popular opinion they do slice well, I wouldn't take out an appendix with 'em but they do the job for 90% of what I need.

I'd heard the name but was unfamiliar with the actual knives. I just checked them out at a couple dealer sites and at the MKT website read about their products, Greg, and the company. That Praetorian is one big-ass knife at 12.4 oz with that monster of a blade.

Like Corey said--nice pair! Thanks for posting.

Well maybe the little guy ain't so little after all. I didn't realize how big the big one was. I'd still like to get my hands on one of those and a Strider Lego just to check em out.

Nice pics of what looks to be a well-worn pair of old friends, Chris. The 110 has made several appearances in this thread. wazu013 has an oldies-but-goodies pair back at Post #116. Trollbane has two pair of 110/112's--one stock, one auto-conversion--at #44. I have my shiny-ass virtual safe-queen pair all the way back at Page 1, Post #5. Those two need some wear, but there's a lotta competition for carry time.

The 110 is a venerable blade. Not a one-hander with a clip, perhaps, but arguably the first "modern folder".

Buck 110 and a mini version from Klein Tools made in Japan.

Someone needs to post pics of the large and small Samaritan from Kingdom....that's what I want to see:)

Not the same model, but a pair of Bucks that compliment each other nicely:

Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk, fixed from my PC using a web browser.

Hey, you fixed it and got your pic to link and show up here! Now if you go back to imgur on your pc, you can edit the size down so we can see Big Daddy without scrolling. Thanks for posting.

Nevermind

Hey, sorry, man. I didn't mean to diss you or be patronizing. I was just glad you got your picture to show after it initially didn't and was trying to be helpful re getting it downsized. My bad. :foot:

Hey, nice to see somebody back here besides me--thread's gone dark lately. Wassup, Peacent? How are things in Barcelona?

Anyway, we're off to the woods up north for a much-needed sojourn, but I just got my new mini-Grip in the mail today, so I thought I'd drop in a couple pics before leaving. Ordinarily, I wouldn't post pics of a Grip in its natural state--just really don't like those handles. I've got three larges, every one has aftermarket scales, and the little guy has a pair in the post from Deutschland to match the big one shown here. Wilkins coarse G10s with the blood red backspacer.

Funny, the stock scales don't bother me as much on this, my first Mini. They seem to have a different feel, though I tend to think it's actually the same stuff. Probably it's just 'cos there's less of it.

No WIFI and very little signal where I'm headed, but that's kinda the point, ain't it? Hopefully, the little guy's new shoes will be here when I get back and I can post another pair of pics after the transformation. See y'all in a few days.:encouragement:

Oh, got some parkerized split arrows on the way, too....

Well, this MiniGrip thing worked out a little differently than I'd planned. Like I said above, I was really surprised at the feel of the stock scales on the Mini as I am normally a full-blown Griptilian handle-hater. I think the shorter, narrower handle makes the plastic feel stiffer, harder, and the knife doesn't have that awful hollow sound when closing. It almost feels like a G10 handle on the smaller knife. Also, that plastic jimping on the rear edges doesn't feel irritating to my hand on the mini like it does on the larger knife.

So, I decided to use the orange grips from the Ritter in the previous post and bought a black-bladed sheep-foot mini for a blade swap to more-or-less match my large with the Igorded orange scales. The Ritter blade went into the coarse black G10 Wilkens scales with red backspacer to match my large Ritter. I didn't get any good shots of those two today, but here's the new orange pair.

Bump...

Blackwater Gear 710 and 707

SAM_3646.jpg

Those blade shapes are really interesting, Corey. It took me a few minutes to reconcile the handle shapes and model #s with the different markings on the scales. So we've sorta got the 707 in a 705 handle there. I'm looking at the blade shapes and thinking the 710 actually has a giant Sequel blade, but, no, they're both a little different than that, too. They both have some upsweep on the blade's thumb-ramp that no 710s, 707s, nor 705s have. Very cool pair.

I've got another pair of Grips to post--my Ritters with matching Wilkins scales--but I think I'll wait until my new clips come from BM to snap and post some new pics. The large is up the page a bit at #234. I can't quite decide whether to put the new black-oxide split arrows on the Rittilkins as I'd planned or if they should go on the orange pair. Maybe the blockier clips would go better on the blockier Grips. Either way, I'll have enough to not have any of those painted clips on any of them.

I'm still surprised at my lack of distaste for the stock mini scales, but painted clips are still in the Do Not Like column.
