Pics of Pairs--Large and Small Versions of the Same Model

Gorgeous blades Elgin!!
Joe

Thanks Joe! These are some of my favorites right now. Extremely well made, and as you said, gorgeous.

Those are the Moki Blakiston Fish Owls, Elgin? Very reminiscent of the Al Mar Eagle/Falcon/Hawk lines. If I could find the Hawk with the Talon blade and thumb stud in cocobolo to go with my Eagle I'd have another pair to show. Just don't seem to be any around.

They are, and they are very reminiscent of the Al Mars (I think those are made by Moki too). The quality is outstanding. Just means I'll be looking at Al Mars knive too now.

Man, those are some sweet. I mentioned the Hawk in my earlier post, but it's really the Falcon Talon in cocobolo I'm looking for. I went back and edited to correct my bird confusion.

@ more, remember the little Bowie knives they sold with the wooden tomahawks and the leather doityouself wallet/change purse/comb holder, usually on the counter. They came with leather sheaths that said stuff like Crystal Caves Kutztown PA or Poconos PA... Here's 2 I picked up at yard sales in the area.

Seems like these are the extent of my large/smalls.

Blackhawk and Renegade
I do have a Vic Rangerwood and Camper but I thought that might be stretching it a bit with a few minute differences between them.

Nice color on the Barrages, Allen, are those Putman scales? I see the locks are still in place. Did you keep the assist springs in?

I've always been kinda interested in the Lum Chinese models, Barman. Do you carry and find them useful?

Let's see your Vics--I'm the last guy that should complain about stretching the topic.

At one point I collected all of the Lum Chinese models except for a grail or two. There were a lot of them made!
They are fairly comfortable to carry and excel at lighter duty slicing with the thin ffg blade.
Excellent for food prep.
I'll post up the Vics as soon as I get another opportunity.

Griptilians

Nice, man. I only have larges (3) but your orange pair makes my guy long for a little buddy. I like those black butt spacers. Who made your scales? Are they Wilkins?

I'll sneak my guy in solo and he can piggyback on your pair.

Benchmark Rollox and CRKT Rollock, one of the more unusual locks and movements for a pocketknife. Can't even call these folders, more like sliders ;) .

I knew somebody had to have one. I've never seen one in person, but just judging from pictures, it looks like a pretty large blade.

I've got a couple M4 Grips for today. The large is 551BK-1303 and the mini is 556-1303, they were limited edition dealer exclusives released by GPK a few years back.

Well, this thread has gone to where all good (or bad) threads go to die and has faded into obscurity. My last post here featured my new BM 705 courtesy (plus a few bucks) of Corey. The "Whole Fam Damily" featured two 710s and two 705s. There's a new little brother in the family--a 705BK--adopted from the Benchmade Forum who just moved in today. He's a well-worn user, but smooth and centered and quite handsome and photogenic in his own way. Maybe he can help resurrect this thread.

I know Joe's got a new baby that pairs up and he's posted it everywhere but here. Corey and Ted can always come up with something, so let's see if we can get a few bumps and coax a little more life out of this fun old thread.

I'm quoting, Joe, 'cause that picture deserves to be shown as much as possible. I went back and looked at your earlier shot of that pair with Little Brother in his earlier garb. Hard to believe it's even the same knife.

Given the wicked hot summer and that your HVAC business has probably made you wealthy beyond belief, you should send the big guy back for a white stripe. ;)

Not that there's anything wrong with it just like it is….

You DEFINITELY know me toooooo well my friend!! Been thinking of doing that since it got back!!

A set of Ritters, and I also decided to throw in a couple Colts to spice it up a little :)
