Pics of your Woods knife/knives

I usually carry my old SOG Seal Pup when I go back in the woods. If I'm camping, the SOG Hunter Revolver goes along, too.

what do you guys think about the ESEE 4?
Well I like mine. I find it's thick enough so that it can take a beating but not too thick so it still cuts and slices well. The blade length is long enough for batonning some fair sized wood but still a manageable size so it can be used for more detailed work. I think it's a good choice for an all around woods knife.
Some people find the handle a little thin or too short, I don't think it's that bad but there are custom handle scales available for it that fix both those problems if they are a problem for you.

All my ESEE knives. The 4 has custom scales on in this picture but now I have the scales from my ESEE 3MIL on it just because I like micarta more than G10.

And some gear that's a little more traditional, my Kellam Wolverine, Case medium stockman and Gransfors wildlife hatchet.

Riverwarrior, how do you like that BOXL? im looking in to getting a Bush operator

I've really been abusing the Fletcher "Bush Operator XL" this past week and it's performed great. If that was the only knife I had in the woods, I know it could perform almost any task I needed. If you get the Bush Operator, I'm sure you will love it!!!

i was looking between an esee 4 with those grips from the knife connection, or a koster bushcraft gen 3, but im still not too sure what i should do

I had a Swamp Rat HRLM that's similar in size and shape as the 4 so I have a little experience there. If you want a general purpose knife the esee with the flat grind will be better. Flat grinds are just better then scandi's on media where the knife has to pass through it IME. Vegetables in particular. However if you want strictly a woods blade that you do woodsy things with then the Koster will be better. The handle ergos combined with the ease of maintenance of the scandi combined with the better steel will give you better performance on wood.

Got a koster. its so comfortable in the hand, and it works much better than i expected it to.

IF I were to go into the woods for extended camping I think these two fixed blades would be with me. The Browning Crowell/Barker as my large chopper, and the Ontario Ranger Falcon as a multi-tasking knife. I also have a Daniel Winkler Winkler II Utility Knife on order that would make another multi-tasker.

I'm mentoring a kid in boyscouts (one of my son's friends) this Sept. so I will be getting more of a chance to play in the woods again soon.

Here is some of my old kit.
