good to see that some of these "woods knives" actually show some use on their blades. I'm not sure what the pristine ones are doing under this topic.

I work in the Bush in Alaska. Pretty much in waders everyday. I have an TOPS Idaho Field Knife strapped to my waders. Its lasted 3 field seasons currently up here which means its been used to do anything from pry open things (yeah your not suppose to), take rocks out of the jet boat intake, cut down alders to make a shelter, and even cut up fish here and there. Blade is heavy, and while its not long (only around 3.5 inches it does the job. Knife looks a little worse for wear now, but here is a picture from a couple seasons ago.

I have only 2 knives that go bush with me .
The larger generally rides in the pack , the folder is kinda with me 24/7 more or less anyway .

Its just a machete , ex philipines , hand made , I think its a repurposed leafsrping .

I seen a few people mentioning similar knives but very rarely positively , tho Ive never had an issue with mine , and the flogging its taken I think if it were going to fail , it would have .

It is only a stick tang job , but it hasnt let me down , I batoned my kindling all winter with it so far , it gets the branches I feed to my goat , it clears the weeds so I can get to the river bank to fish .... my wife calls it my friend .
