I was hoping this thread would return. I can recycle this here, too.

About 4 years ago, a supervisor with a background in welding and fabricating ordered a Rong-Fu RF-31 column mill-drill, which was dropped in the process of unloading. It was then parked in a corner, and forgotten about. With the supervisor long gone, a co-worker and I pulled it out of the corner, dusted it off, and got it running. Then, the spindle bearings started knocking.

One set of bearings later, this photo was taken while I was re-tramming the vise.

Everybody forgot about it, so it became "my" expensive toy, and I'm afraid that if I spend too much company money on it, they'll decide they can monetize the asset. I'm certainly not doing anything profitable with it! The vise is an old drill press vise, the cutters are from my dad's collection, the dial indicator is something that was on-site for other work, etc. Mostly borrowed and "on the left", so nobody up the food chain has any reason to notice. So far, so good.
