Piet Henskens aka Bagheera

Piet is a fine gentleman to deal with. And Piet, the fact that it is your "normal" way of treating people and doing business goes to show what a good person you are, and what a good lesson you are teaching your children and fellow scouts.

I've done 2 glowring transactions with Piet as well as a firesteel transaction, and hope to be able to do more.

I too would greatly like to make a contribution to offset any losses you've experienced Piet. Please don't think of it as charity, just goodwill between friends?

Oh yeah, I don't want to embarrass Piet anymore, so I'll just say that everyone on this thread is absolutely correct!!

Something is definitely wrong when receiving letters/packages from US. After more than 2 years of using USPS only recently I lost one package (105.00 USD) and my Chimera is still not here (20 days!!!) - sent by air mail

Hi guys,

I just started what I didn't want to happen.
I never intended to have you bunch of DBF's (Distant BladeForums Friends
smile.gif
) start offering money for losses we caused ourselves.

I find it extremely hard to believe that dishonest postal people would find/know that in the plain normal sized envelopes that we ask people to send the payment in is money.
There's no indication of money on the outside.

We still hope that the envelopes will arrive.

Some off the senders of these envelopes offered to resent the money but we feel VERRY uncomfortable with this because it would double the cost for them for either the Glowrings and or Firesteels and we just tried offering them for a nice price that would have both parties feel fine.

We took the risk so I personnaly think we should carry the burden of it. Although I saw some posts covering lost knives/payments and forumites saying that in that case both parties should cover half of the "costs" it still does not feel right although in our case it still would mean a decent price for the buyer and some "relief" for the seller.

Still, I guess one should really get organised and file a complain with the third party (ies) that cause all the trouble and that's the postal service(ces).
We pay good money for their service to deliver and of the 20 letter send 4 get lost.
That's 20% and that's to high a % to accept.

Enough blabbering from our side, you guys & girls are one great bunch of people.

Best Scouting wishes from Holland,

Bagheera

Piet-

How much of your own uncompensated time are you giving to your scouts?

Consider it payment for your services, donated to your scout group...

We're begging you Piet....

Brandon,

Don't ask

I guess I spend at least 12 hours a week so 1.5 days a week doing scouting stuff.
Mostly in the evenings if I look at my phonebill

Hi "fishface",

The Busse #9 for personal use
wink.gif
is still lying in our San Diego office sharpened by Jerry Busse himself to atom splitting sharpeness.
The last person who visited the SD office was from England and he didn't dare taking the #9 in his suitcase to England.
I'm now awaiting someFedEx shipement going from SD to Holland and I'm getting what I guess must be withdrawl symptoms

.

It's only 6 weeks till my vacation and I want to take this baby to the Ardeche in France to see what it can do.
