Pipe Knives?

I was hoping to win one like that off the auction site the other day, but got outbid at the last. If it was you, congratulations - sorry about the bid war. :D

I've had mine about four or five years, but I'm glad to hear there are some available out there, even if it's on that auction site.

Don't have a photo yet, but some years ago Charlie tossed in a little pipe knife with a package he sent down my way. Pulling it out and checking it the blade etch reads. "STA-SHARP SMOKER'S KNIFE 9460" which as best I can find out was from the Craftsman Sta-Sharp line. Guess I'll have to do a photo of it later and post it.

Here's a few...

I in fact happen to know of a reputable U.S. company did make a pipe knife. It actually resides in my edc box of knives. I took up the pipe to get off of snuff. Can you guess the pattern? Then the U.S. manufacturer? I'll post a pick after the answers are in.

I know Kershaw made a pipe knife in the early 2000's. It appears on the bay from time to time.

Good guess, but no, the version that I have is actually from a company more revered on this exact board.

O.K., O.K. First hint, the manufacturer is located in a town that starts with the letter "T".

Stitch 2442, you nailed it. Good job, now I need to try and post a pic. I'm still new to all this. I'll do my best.

I do not know for sure, I have a "proto" etched one. It is of a high quality. Not like the $10 ones on the counter, by the register, at the tobacco shop.

New to the picture additions. Here's a first try.

The knife has the traditional tamper via the pattern selection, the mark and pile sides of the rear bolster are curved. The pick is typical although longer on this model, and the spatula blade has been given a sharpening on one side so the bowl can be cleaned/reamed. Pretty neat little knife.

Camillus used to make a little cocobolo handled pipe knife.

It was shaped like a wine bottle and the top bolster was also a tamper.

Pen blade and bowl scraper, almost like a punch blade.

The older ones I've seen were marked with a four line Camillus stamp.

I've seen them on Ebay with an advertising stamp on the tang and a small pipe impressed into one handle.

I'll see if I can find a photo of one.
