Pit's Camping Trip !!!

The pictures are beautiful !!! I know you all had fun. I would love to see a thread about Canada showing the trips and the wildlife they capture on film.

wow beautiful area there with the water pools and falls.

did you get the #7 or #8 opinel? i have the same #7, great little knife that feels like air in your pocket its so light!

looks like a great trip, hope you had lots of fun.

Thanks for sharing pdog. First Mora, then Opinel????? Where does the madness end?

Doc :D

One other thing I forgot to mention about the Opinel is how well they work with a ferro rod. Being carbon steel and having a square shouldered spine they throw out a great shower of sparks !!!

Do I see and Opinel vs Mora review in the near future?

How does the fact that it's carbon steel enter in to it? Ferro rods will work with any sharp, hard edge.

Just tried this and got lots of sparks w/ some known carbon steel knives, but only very small sparks w/ a couple of 440c knives and a butter knife thrown in. A screwdriver also sparked good w/ the 'light my fire' rod.

Make sure the edges are sharp and not rounded. A piece of glass will create sparks with a ferro rod.

Try the back of the saw on a SAK, which is stainless steel. It throws off great sparks.

Doc

In the interests of accuracy, I just tried it with the back of the saw on my Vic Spirit - lots of sparks.

Pdog, I see you're here. Try your Vic Spirit saw.

What can I say that nobody has said? Whatever, nice pictures! Looked like a nice camping trip.
