Plant ID Video Passaround???

Hey Y'all?

I was wondering if there might be any interest in something like that??

I have this one DVD Free Food For Backpackers that while it covers mostly stuff most of us know it's fairly entertaining and actually shows the preparation of stuff as the guy cooks each thing over a fire in a little mess kit:D;)

Then I have Marty Simons plant ID DVD. It's a pretty good one and both it and the one mentioned above seem to cover plants available in my area (East Coast)

THEN

I also have 2 volumes of Mors Kochanski's plant walk videos. (VHS)I think these are superior in photography than the 2 above and show nearly all of the plants in various stages and remind me of my old Dendrology class. The downside of these is they are mostly plants native to Canada.

Anyway, would anyone be interested in a passaround of these vids?

Also would it be better to do one or two at a time so people could look at a couple and send them on quickly? Or would it be better to send them all togther with the stipulation that if you can't get them viewed within a reasonable amount of time you send them on unviewed?

Hollowdweller,

Great idea. I would love to see them. I stay pretty busy and would be more likely to watch one at a time. A second stipulation might be that people agree not to copy them so the makers don't get ripped off...

I'd love to see those videos. Great idea.

Sticking the thread so you guys can have at it a lot easier. I'll stick pass-around threads if they generate responses.

I'm in. Would love to participate in the passaround. Sadly, I no longer own a VHS, but I would figure something out.

Thanks HD......:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

I'm down.

anyone got a video capture card and a VCR? May as well just rip them and upload them to share rather than spend a fortune on shipping.

Sketchbag,

Please remember that folks earn a part of their living making these videos. Marty Simon is a member here. Please don't advocate bootlegging copies, okay?

Thanks,

Brian

Brian?

I think he was just trying to be nice, responding to the previous post where Tarmix was saying he no longer had a VHS machine and the 2 MORS KOCHANSKI ones are on VHS. Marty's is on DVD.

Good sentiment from Sketchbag actually:thumbup: but I figure the same caveat applies to putting the VHS onto DVD since Mors offers them in DVD now also;)

Sorry - words on a screen can suck. Wasn't written with a scolding tone - I know he was offering a nice thing. Just wanted the caveat up there. I'll try to put better smilies etc next time. :D

Count me in. Let me know when you need shipping info. This is actually a priority of mine in honing up my wilderness skills.

I don't have a vhs but could find one I'm sure.

Thanks,

Charles

I don't have any additional videos to contribute, but I'd love to see them. Great idea HD, thanks for the thread.

Found the Marty and Free Food ones still need to find the Mors one. I was at a home brewers party most of today. I did take a few pics of my friends log cabin for that log cabin thread though:thumbup:
