Plant ID Video Passaround???

Hey, everyone - trying to reduce stickies. Can all of you make sure to subscribe to this thread so you can keep up? I'm going to unstick it now if that's okay.

count me in i love outdoor movies. im in INDIANA so if it's on the way pass to me and i'll relay it.:D

Barabas
mneedham
fiddleback
tarmix
sketchbag
csshepherd
deadeyelefty
TSF
Briangandrews
Eastr77

I put Barabas at top because I can probably just meet him in person.

If everyone doesn't mind after watching maybe they could say what they liked and didn't like about each.

Kicking this one back up because it had moved to page 2.

I'm going to give Barabas one more day to check in and then we'll put him at the bottom and get the next persons address.

If anyone here has the capability to PM him do.

Thanks!

Yeah send me your addy at the email listed above and I'll send it to you first.

I was waiting around for Barabas because he lives in the same area but he must be offline.

Hollowdweller,

Do you need anything to get it rolling?

Mneedham!

The videos are on the way to you as of today:thumbup:

Is there any way a mod can re stick this thread??

This forum moves so fast that I keep having to find it and w/o the search function it's a pain!

Mneedham. Post here when you get them.

Fiddleback? You're next. I think I can send Mneedham your addy if you still have the Oakly Ct address

HD,

Out of town yesterday, when I returned home today there was a note from the Post Office that they have a package for me. I'll pick them up on Monday and start watching them. I will post a review. Thank you again!

Hollowdweller,

Go to "Thread Tools" at the top right of the thread, click on "subscribe to this thread", then pick "instant email notification" and you'll get an email everytime there're new posts here.

i can usually find it when there's new posts. I just have trouble finding it when there's not and it gets back a few pages. Kicking it back to the top now.

HD,

Have watched the videos, thank you. Here are my impressions.

Mors Kochanski videos - Mors clearly knows his stuff, pretty articulate guy, its the first time I have heard him speak. The presentation style is a little dry, my wife was snoring like my bulldog within 10 minutes, but high level of knowledge.

Marty Simon - good stuff. I have a bias as it is set in New York so it is relevant to my area. I have a real finicky DVD player so it skipped around abit but this is one I would like to own.

Roy Whelden - this one is interesting. In order to watch it, you have to get through watching the guy playing his cello by a creek, which is no small feat. But once you do, it may be the best of the lot in terms of providing a beginner with an understanding of identifying and preparing common edibles. He not only identifies the plant but prepares them and eats them. Overall, pretty good.

Thanks again.

Fiddleback - PM with your address please.

Your impression was similar to mine.

Mors to me was probably the best for ID'ing, showed them at difft stages and the photography was excellent. Didn't bore me so much but the plants weren't ones that grow here except a few.

Marty's had the most plants but I would like to see it with sharper photography because the plants were all ones that grow here.

The Free Food one (I think ) had the least number of plants but most did grow round here but I thought the cello playing and rock climbing were funny and I also appreciated the preparation in the little mess kit over a fire. But he used cheese and butter a lot. Now every time my wife and I cook something wild we look at each other and say "add cheese and butter":D;)

Fiddleback???? You're next!
