But I just ordered a Medford.

I forsee a massive zip tie in its future... and possibly a trip to Razor Edge for a full flat grind.

Friends don't let friends put zip ties on knives!

You need to machine a plate, and tap and drill that sucker. Blade sure looks thick enough.

I carried that ebony handled Tideoute #23 you gave me all week!

Just throwing this out there, but if I were asked to suggest a way to make a "wave" attachment for that knife, here's what I would suggest-

Get a piece of aluminum or soft stainless steel the same thickness as the blade at the opening hole. cut a piece of that metal into a insert that fits perfectly into the opening hole. Drill and tap two holes in that insert.

Then cut two "hooks" out of stainless steel plate (maybe 3/32" thick), drill two holes in each hook to match the threaded holes in the insert piece. And screw the hooks to the insert, one on each side.

The opening hole is oval shaped, so the insert, and anything attached to it by two screws, won't spin under stress. And the opening hole looks big enough that an insert should be plenty big enough to accommodate two screws (1-72, or maybe 2-56).

That's what I would suggest. ;)

Check out the ExoCarb line from OSGTool. They claim to be able to drill up to 70rc and tap up to 65rc.

Not the simplest endeavor, but SO MUCH cooler than a zip tie. Anodized Ti Wave plate on top of a DLC coated blade? An assailant would "ooh" and "ahh" while being stabbed in the face. Very effective.

Congrats on the two year mark btw. Sound like a good excuse to by some high end bits... Might even excuse the Medford. Maybe.

Matt, I've got nothing against Medford and wouldn't mind having one but you should start making your own folders with your own designs. I'd bet you would sell a few around here. CM's self defense specials if you will.

I do believe, only Crusader Forge folder will stop your paranoia, Matt.

I hope you really like this blade. Maybe one of these days I'll spring for something along this line. I just don't care for metal scales in general, but they are really popular.

I'm not going to even try making folders until I have CNC.
