PLEASE POST YOUR TRADITIONAL GERMAN FIXED BLADES & POCKET KNIVES,

That's what I thought at first! But based on the blade markings, and some googling, I think it's more of a Puma knockoff.
Hi mate,

Can you post a few links that helped you get to that conclusion, I have found a quote on this site from Berand Levine regarding the Explorer Brand. I am hoping to read more about the history of the brand and downfall of it.

Cheers

Alas, I cannot due to forum rules, but (I think!) I can advise that you use a search engine site to look up the info from the blade etching. You have the part number, 30-910, as well as the words that you find alongside it on the blade.

Also, I should point out, that even if it is a manufacturer trying to imitate someone else's model, that fact alone does not necessarily make make your knife less nice, or less enjoyable for you.

This thread is a sea of nice, interesting folders!! I was looking for a place to post this Fixed Blade I have had tucked away with a bunch of old shop tools. I have no sheath for it, but have admired the construction; one-piece handle and guard with inlaid slabs of Stag, with a blade that takes and holds an incredible edge!! I have had it for at least 15 years, and never had cause to use it much. Early in my career, German knives were not worth much, but the quality shows through here!! W.Boeschen (over) Solingen (over) Germany is stamped on the blade with 15 (wide space) 11, on the reverse!!

Any comments are greatly appreciated!!

I cannot find any info on W.Boeschen. It's not listed in Levine's Guide, nor Goins!!
If anyone knows anything, please post it!!

I can't clearly see the tang stamp on the pen knife, but I'm fairly confident it says something like "C. LÜTTERS & CIE" with a crouching lion under the lettering. That's the Solingen company that makes Loewenmesser pocketknives (and fixed blades).

Correct on the tang stamp. 😁👍
Seems to be high quality. Since they make Loewenmesser's it makes a bit of sense these is good quality. 🤔

I have been informed that this is a "Hitler Youth" style handle fitted with a different blade, branded post-war, by various makers!!
This info gave me an epiphany!!😯 It was given to me many years ago (1977-1978) by an immigrant from Poland named Jozef (sp.) R.I.P, who brought it to Canada with him post 1972!
Little is known about him, but he could put a razor edge on a knife by hand!! This knife will still cut notepaper held free!!

A "Notschlachter" from Hubertus (maybe subcontracted to Otter). A farmer's knife. The blade is 3.8".
