Our good friend and companion could use some help, as well as ourselves.
He slipped a disc a couple days ago and is on cage rest and meds the same as his best friend was, whom we lost in december of last year due to this same problem. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...-quot-(-my-heart-is-broken)?highlight=marbles
On top of this the wife finally told me that the testing she's been undergoing is going to be checking her for stomach cancer. Needless to say i am almost beside myself.
We have been trying tirelessly to find a way to get Bean the surgery he may well need which will cost about $5500 total.
We will know more about the wife as the testing continues, fortunately she has medical coverage. Bean does not.
Right now i'm hopeful although immensely tired and in need of rest and food. Everything else in life is pretty much on hold until i can get a handle on all this....

Bean is the eptome of an ever loving soul. He is almost always happy and his dispostion is such that we, at times call him "Mr. Sensitive" because he doesnt like any strife or yelling. He is always ready to give a snuggle, hug or kiss. Strong yet loving, he is all i ever hope for my soul to be.

Please send us all the smoke and prayer you can for a postive outcome for both.

Smoke and prayers for all of you. Don't worry about things around here, but let us know how everyone is doing when you have a chance.

Smoke and prayers. Take care of yourself. We'll be fine. Please let us know if we can do anything at all.

Smoke and prayers.

My father in law's best pal Olive has been through this and is doing OK. Just to remind you that sometimes they pull through just fine.

We have an acquaintance with weiner dogs. At least one of them lost the use of its back legs and now wears a doggie wheelchair. Maybe that's an option.

We've all been through the wringer one way or another with cancer, nuff said.

Positive thoughts and prayers and a little smoke for you and your family in this stressful time. "Keep Your Head Up"

Thanks my friends!
Beans back legs are pretty much paralysed although he does still have feeling in them. What is worrying me is his inability to urinate and defacate. Hopefully going to try and get a surgical consult after the wife gets tests done this week.
Just trying to maintain right now and praying that he recovers.
Can't do much on a sunday, so we're just trying to rest and get back to feeling like eating.
I hate stress.

I almost lost Buffy just recently, and we fear she is not much longer in this world. I feel your pain, Karda. I hope both your small gentle dog and your loved one pull through. Peace and smoke up.

Please keep up the wonderful smoke and prayers my friends, they seem to be helping!
When i came home from getting my son from work, bean needed a cage change as he'd wetted it again.
When i got him out to change it and clean him up... He actually stood on one leg for about 5-10 seconds and pooped!

This is good news because it means that he isnt completely paralysed and that part of him is still working.
There is a shining light and hope that this will right itself on it's own thru the cage rest and medication regimen.

Thank you all your help!

Take heart. Dogs are in many ways the same as humans. Hope fuels health and healing.
I don't think you need to be told this, but it never helps to hear it. Do continue to show him the same love and support you always have. Courage is easily spread, and comforting.

My prayers will continue to go out.

i hope your little guy feels better and yall can cope with everything.

i was scared about my little guy a few weeks ago, he hurt his foot or leg, but not back. he has gotten to be a pretty old guy nowDSCN2373.jpg

i hope this little doggie pic can bring a smile to your face karda

well wishes

Thank you for the smile, bladeright!
Don't worry abdel, we are giving bean all the love and support we can. Especially comfort. We are strong for him, as he is for us.

Today we got some tail waggage. Not alot and it was a messed up wag, but it is a sign of improvement. We will continue to be optimistic and hopeful we can get him thru this.

EDIT: Shortly after making this post i checked on bean again per schedule and he was able to give us some more poo.
He actually sort of stood while doing it and his pads correctly oriented when doing so.
Each day a little progess and more hope. Doing our best. Please keep the smoke and prayers coming.
