Great idea Andy. That is very kind of you. Bladeforums is such a great community.
 
I went gold membership after being here about a week. Good investment in a good place.

The laundry thing? I've been hip to those 'accidents' for years! ;) But Bonafide, for the sake of domestic bliss, you should have either told her or gone out and gotten a new pair and subbed them in. As an idea, get a pair BIGGER than the originals and sub them in--it'll be like that episode of MASH where they were substituting Charles' uniforms......

lol .. naaahh, she's a tri-athlete .. and stays at an insane level of fitness. It could have been 2 extra lbs of water retention and she would have noticed .. and freaked out. I do know that accidental mixing of her fancy pants with my uniforms in the laundry cost me a trip to the mall (ugh) and the price of 2 new pair of pants for her .. so win-win in her favor.

My wife is a marathoner, and I long ago learned to just NOT wash her technical gear. Inevitably, I'd get the colors wrong, or the dryer temp wrong, or I'd put something in the dryer that needed laid flat to dry, or...

Not cheap stuff either. I've long joked that I wish I had matched dollar for dollar what she spent on just shoes. I'd have more "man toys" than I'd know what to do with.

What I want to know is wtf does going to the level of "Pirate" entail, and what kind of discount do we get for that one? :eek: :D

When did that one show up? And in the words of Bones...what does that even mean? lol

I assume it has something to do with the crew who hang out in the Pirate Cove area of the forum ... where there seems to be fewer rules of conduct.

In that case the discount is irrelevant. I don't hang out there, but am friends with several who do. I pop in and read now and then...spend a few minutes laughing and shaking my head, and go on back to another area of the forum. I am just not going to spend that kind of money on something that only pertains to privileges in the cove lol, I don't care if it got me a 50% discount :)

Ok .. admittedly I'd never paid that much attention to it til you mentioned 'that kind of money' so I had to go take a look. WTF!?!?

A while back, Spark had a few people who wanted to donate more to the forum, so he created the "Pirate" membership to allow those folks the chance to do so.

Ah, that makes sense. I was going to go platinum again this year to help support the forum more...but really just couldn't afford it...
