Please suggest small fixed blade knife for every day carry.

Another vote for either the Izula, BK14, BK24, or BK11. But I hate these threads, because I now want about 80% of the knives shown here.

Another great small Bark River.

I have one of these with the tanto blade but for packaging task I would suggest this one. It would be hard for your hand to slip during normal use, the Sheath (mine anyways) has great retention and as a last ditch defensive weapon (its least likely use) it can be gripped and used as a punch dagger.

+1. I have the tanto as well, and even in my meat hook hands, it is very comfortable. It comes with multiple carry options (neck or belt) and works for a great many tasks. The blade is sharp enough for push cuts, with the tanto at least.

This is one of my EDC knives until my BK11 comes in and then this one goes to either my knife or my son. The best part about both knives is they are CHEAP!! I have seen the Folts for $16 and I got the BK11 from LAPG for $36.

What knives typically come with a "snap in" kydex or other plastic sheath? Are there companies that make kydex sheaths for knives?

I'd suggest the Busse Anniversary Meaner Street, an Izula, or a Brous Blades Ranger (the pic below). I EDC the Ranger most days just in case I need to use it for something more abusive than I'd like to put one of my folders through.

Fantoni Rumici Hide :D

Or get a $60 necker here!

Awesome Fantoni! That just moved up my list of want/needs. I just have to figure out a way to embezzle the money from the missus. On that note, I often remember to be very quiet about the money and then my wife signs for a package and .... BUSTED!

I thought I posted this but I guess not. My fixed blade EDC is a Bark River Knives Northstar EDC in CPM-3V with polished black canvas micarta scales and SS pins/lanyard. I carry it on my left hip in a black leather sheath (factory). It's partnered with the Victorinox SwissTool X every day of the week I have pants on.

This is a full-height convex ground blade and combining that with 3V makes it stupid tough. I have no fear of doing things knives shouldn't do without worry when using this knife.

If you want something light that is a great knife, the Fallkniven WM1 in VG 10 is one of my favorites. Very well designed.

If you want something with a bit of heft to it and is very classy, my favorite is the BR Essential EDC in CPM M4.

I can definitely see why he would assume that, maybe its a bit ignorant to step in and assume someone is ignorant. Be nice:(

+1 for the Fally F1... but now im going to go price out about 3 of the knives i've seen on this forum. god i hate being a knifaholic.

I just ordered a 100% american made knife and leather sheath from Anza Knives, the AZWK2M. Awesome knife that measures 6 1/4" overall, 2 3/4. The blade is made from a file which has been annealed, cold ground and polished. Full tang construction with almost 4 mm thickness. Under $50 on flebay. Really awesome knife. Check out Anza knives.

its cool, its just when u say check out xxx knives it made me think you were suggesting to the original poster to try them out. i figured after 2 years he probably found what he was looking for. personally i like my izula2
