One thing - this could interest me if the blade was longer. Espada XL size, but fashioned more as a utility chopper than as a Navaja-style knife. Maybe with improved technology, or with specialized pivot steel, I don't know, I'm no engineer, I don't know what the future of pivot technology could look like. But, if it was possible to maintain a knife of large size, say 6-7", folding, chopper... I could definitely see a market for it.
The Espada XL is not a very good chopper for wood. I would not use it (or any knife, ideally) for wood-chopping. More like, better for chopping dead wood, brambly stuff, things like that, away from you on a path. So, something this thick that could be used on wood without shearing the pivot would be cool. Some places have laws that highly favor foldable knives, so this is why one would not just grab a fixed blade, the sensible option.
