I carry tip-down folders right back pocket: Military or Chinook. No problem.
I have tucked fixed blade sheaths into that pocket, which is not real comfortable sitting down.
Back pocket for clipped folders. I wedge it into the outside seam. I keep my SAK in a front pocket.
I keep the folder in the back because I have so much other stuff in my pockets already. This keeps pretty accessible without getting in the way of digging out keys and such. So far I have not had any problems sitting. Then again I don't yet own any wide folders so my method of carry could change in the future.
Front pocket. I don't carry clipped so back pocket is generally not an option for me, the knife tends to fall down and lay horizontally. If I carry back pocket I end up having to slide it up all the time. Looks like I'm scratching my butt.
I carry only waved knives, Emersons or stuff I waved. I'll keep a framelock CQC7 with a normal right handed clip in my left rear pocket. It will draw forward into an icepick grip, edge out. In my right pocket I like to have a Super CQC7 framelock with the clip mounted for a lefty, so I can draw in the same forward wave icepick grip.
Right front pocket waved tenacious, comes out super quick! its there cause its always needed. i also keep my 110 on my belt if i really need to, otherwise its in my backpack. there's also a lock-back razor blade in my left front pocket for boxes.
