Pocket Carry--Front or Back?

With a clip, or pocket sheath, right front. If there is no clip, right back. (110, Balisong's SAK)

All pockets could see some EDC carry, small blades with clips usually go in a shirt pocket heavier knives dependin' on the blade vs clip orientation, (I like to keep the blades against the pants seem and in my back pocket there's usually a fixed blade with a static cord tethered to a belt loop or belt.

For me, i carry tip down in the back pocket and tip up in the front..i find i can get a grip on them easier that way..

For jeans, clipped to right front pocket or inside the change pocket (on right side). For work (suit pants), clipped on right side, IWB behind the belt. Suit pants can get frayed if you clip to the pocket and IWB behind the belt conceals the clip better.

I carry an S30V Kershaw blur in my front right pocket tip up with most pocket and gear configurations, though sometimes it ends up inmy waistband or a kydex neck sheath I made for it .(which also opens the knife during the draw )

Whatever EDC I'm carrying for the day goes in my right front pocket because I'm right handed and the RFP is easily accessible. Spyderco Lava in my my right rear pocket always.

Clipped right front, because I like to, and I'm right handed sooo its easiest to access the knife for me

Both! I carry my locking folder in my back right pocket, up snug against the right seam. You can't sit on it there. ;) Slip joint folder and Izula in my right front pocket.

Neither...side pocket of carpenter jeans because it doesn't seem to interfere with movement.

This is the reason I love carpenter's pants.:thumbup::thumbup:

You know you are a knife nut when your first consideration about the garments as to how knife friendly they are. My wife bought a pair of shorts, I sat down in her car and my slipjoint fell out of the bottom pocket and hit the concrete. I never wore that pair again. I told her these shorts are just not going to work for me.

I carry my BM grip in right front pocket, and the slipjoint for the day in my left back pocket. It does not interfere with sitting.

Front left pocket in a pocket sheath that keeps a large folder vertical and next to the outside seam of the pants so it's not in the way when I sit down. The pocket sheath also distributes the weight of the larger knife it isn't sagging down my pants and looking conspicuous. The pocket sheath's back plate (or front plate, depending on how you look at it) covers the entire width of the pocket with the knife held on the inside so there is no imprint on my pants. I also carry my cell phone in the same pocket for the same reasons. It stays vertical, doesn't show from the front, and doesn't sag.

Left or right front pocket. I tried carrying a knife in my back pocket after reading that some people do, but I can't sit on it and it feels uncomfortable to me.

Neither.
When wearing a suit (approx. 4 days a week) I use either one of the smaller jacket pockets (they house BM 32 or Protech Godson finely), or sheath/pouch on the bet. With jeans I use a sort of horizontal holder (essentially -- folded in half sheet of plastic, wrapped in codura), to carry bigger folders small of the back.

I actually carry my knives in my back left pocket unless they are waved(Emerson) or my BM nagara because the thumb studs tend to catch on the pockt and I have almost cut myself with it...those two I keep in my front right pocket...I like carrying them in my backpocket because I don't really like having my pockets filled... The other place I keep them is unclipped in my front right when I'm on the subway or in sensitive areas...or where I feel I might loose it or get it snatched...I completely unclip and place my knife in my jacket pocket or a more secure pocket when I'm in a taxi...taxis and things in my pockets do not get along

I only wear Levis 501 jeans and my knife always goes in the Watch Pocket on the Right Front side.
