Pocket Clips?

It just doesn't work for me, especially on knives that I flick open. My fingertips rest on the clip, so it is the clip that provides purchase on the knife. Try it with some knives (AXIS for example) and you could send them flying across the room. YMMV, no judgement upon those for whom it works.

It depends on the knife and how the clip is done. Some clips just suck and removing them improve ergonomics. Some clips are made well and do not need to be modified.

Pocket clips?! Damn things multiply like dust bunnies! 😁

These are just my loose ones. I don't even remember all the knives they came from. I'm sure I got rid of a few (cheapies).

I will remove a clip when I prefer to carry the knife in a belt sheath. The clip just gets in the way.

I carry two Cold Steel knives daily, neither one has a clip attached. I'm not against clips, I preferred them at work, but in my daily life I don't like a folder clipped in my pocket.

Interesting hearing two sides. I think I only have three knives with clips. Two of those I wouldn’t take the clips off. They just work. I’m not sure about the Native 5 Salt. I’m not really sure it aids my grip when opening. It’s hellashously tight and a bit sharp on the edges. I think maybe I’d like one of their wire clips better.

I’m a pocket clip guy. Don’t own a knife I carry that doesn’t have one. I even left the clip on my Mnandi and it rides in the bottom of my pocket.
I do the same thing. Most times if it's a small knife, pocket carry. Depends I guess. I agree with the above post.depends on the knife . As well as where I am going. And doing. But I keep the clips on.

I will admit, even thought I'm a clip lover, that they are the primary source of knives getting lost. Many a time I found the knife I was carrying almost completely out of my pocket because the clip had snagged on something, or found knives on the floor of my car because the seatbelt had pulled it out of pocket. And, unfortunately, I've lost about half a dozen knives throughout my life, some of them very nice and irreplacable, and I suspect the pocket clip was the cause.

I thought I was the only one that had problems with seatbelts getting snagged on my clips. I've never lost one but I sure did bend a bunch of clips so far.

I keep the clips on also. I have had the clips catch on something and get bent, but have not lost a knife yet due to that reason.
