Pocket Clips?

I liked it better when you didn't have to wear seat belts. But then the politicians knew better. They like telling us what to do. I wear the seatbelt because it's the law. If it wasn't the law I wouldn't be wearing it.

I like pocket clips myself. I like milled clips over bent clips. It really depends on the clip. Sometimes I’ll remove the clip if I am going to make a belt sheath to carry the knife.

Also, I remove the clip on all modern lockbacks.

Well at least for me, the only time I really want to use a pocket clip is a Wave opening knife. That's where a pocket clip shines. A wave opening knife would be practically useless unless it was clipped to your pocket one might assume.

How many folks here remove pocket clips altogether on knives that come with clips?

I keep them on larger folders (>> 3.5" blade), and Ti framelocks (to protect the lock from hand pressure). Otherwise I remove them.

I carry too much other crap in my pockets to have my knife rattling around loose in there. Even knives that don't have a clip I carry in a pocket slip that attaches to the pocket by clip or magnet or whatever.

Old school carry. Old habits are hard to break, edit I like that!

I always keep the clip as I don’t like carrying a knife freely in my pocket.

Well, I just removed the pocket clip from my New Spyderco Native 5 Salt and, for me, I believe the knife handles much better without the clip. Going to try it this way for a while.

I lost a $700. William Henry because of a weak clip catching on a seatbelt

I've lost a Benchmade/Emerson prototype due to what I suspect is the same reason. Although I didn't pay all that much at the time, it was irreplacable, and god only knows how much it would be worth today.

I put Millit clips on my Sebenza’s.

Interesting hearing two sides. I think I only have three knives with clips. Two of those I wouldn’t take the clips off. They just work. I’m not sure about the Native 5 Salt. I’m not really sure it aids my grip when opening. It’s hellashously tight and a bit sharp on the edges. I think maybe I’d like one of their wire clips better.

You should look at the mxg deep carry clip for the Native 5 lightweight. I love mine.
