Pocket sheath/pocket carry help please

Nice options here - Al Dodge can also custom make you any size and thickness you want here on the forum. A true gentlemen and a nice and reasonably priced product. Search pocketknife sheaths and Al Dodge.

I bought the mid-sized WH clip case. The 3.5" Erickson fits all the way in, but the 4" Davison sticks out just enough to grab it. Perfect.

I just don't have any problem with the mouth being open. I carry a Main Street pocket slip that basically molds closed after a week or so of wear.

Could you please tell us how many grams the small KSF weighs? And can we see a pic of the knife in the pouch, from the top. Im trying to see if the knife is covered, if the pouch is in a pocket with keys and coins. Or do you carry the knife in a dedicated pocket?

See, keys and coins cant get to touch any part of a knife in the soft pouches, whereas the GEC sleeve mouth is held open by a knife inside, less than ideal for my needs. My concern is the KSF would also be open at the top, like the GEC...

Thanks. Not a bad idea.

Here are a few I made, all belt sheaths. The molded ones were an experiment. I used deerhide folded so there was skin side both inside and out. Wet the leather then coated the suede side with carpenters glue, folded it and molded it to the knives. The outcome is a soft skin interior and exterior and a hard shell from the glue bolding and soaking the soft deerhide. A pain but it worked.
The tooled ones are quite easy, one piece with a welt on the blade side which makes them fit quite a range of sizes.

Best regards

Robin

I'm surprised these haven't been posted yet. These sheaths are custom made for GEC 73's, but I've found that they carry 85's snugly too. Smaller knives like 15's work as well!
They're in and out of stock (they must sell well!) from Bob at Old Hundred. I think it's the perfect sheath for my 73's

Loop goes on belt, sheath hangs upright along seam in pants. IN the pocket, not outside.

Buy leather sheaths use your old summer camp braiding skills to make lanyard. Or look it up on U tube. Thin braid is 50lb super braid fishing line, have been using for 10 years with no breakage yet. Again the sheath, lanyard and knife hang IN the pocket.

Will swap knives of same size out to carry on different days or needs. You can pull the knife out of the sheath in the pocket if it is loose enough, or you flip out the sheath on the lanyard and use two hands to access knife.

Always good to post so that the pics show in the post, rather than just links. Although, I realize some folks posting from phones can't always do that. Click <reply with quote> to see my edit.

By request, I was happy to find that the sheath for my 73, was a perfect fit (even better than my single blade 73) for a 91 mm alox like this electrician, as well as for a two blade Charlow. The single blade Charlows kind of rattle around a bit.

I've had my Main St about a week now too and it closes up just fine.
I sometimes can't tell one end from the other picking it up off the desk.
Love it.

Questions about dealer stock are not handled in threads. Please use email or PM.

I just ordered a main street slip and a black standard slip. I couldn't make up my mind. I'm just not sure which one I will like more. I need more than one pocketslip anyways so both will get used. I'm thinking of using the standard with my GEC 48s and not sure what knife will go in the main street. Perhaps a GEC 72/73 or my eureka jack? Ill have to get it and see which knife i prefer I guess.
