Podcast centered around slip joint making/traditional knife history - The Catch Bit Show

Oh Boy!!!
You'd laugh if you saw the last few L,F&C's I purchased, old relics, mainly for the punches and the stampings on the punches. Unfortunately will always be relics - but they will serve a purpose for me!

A wonderful and interesting guest on the latest show.
Brad Lockwood is the author of "The Case Cutlery Dynasty" book and relays some great stories about his Case family.
Brad is also hosting the second "Little Valley Knife Show" this summer in New York.

Thanks Duncan and yes, Brad had some great stories.
Sounds like quite the wild bunch of Case family members from horse rustlers to prize fighters, and cutlery companies going in every possible direction.
I'm eager to hear more from Brad on his part two with the show...

I cant wait for the next episode as well. Brad sounds hard case! :D

Oh Boy!! that Harness Jack!!! Have you ever seen another Springville stamped one Charlie? That would have to be as rare as Rocking Horse poop wouldn't it?
Only one I've seen, Duncan!! Rocking Horse for sure!!
Apparently the Springville location was only functional from 1912 to 1915!!

That must be pretty darned close to the top of a very, VERY nice pile of Harness Jacks you have Charlie, that's so good to see that knife and it's appreciated your share this with all of us too!

Rumor has it that some pool hustler from Canada took home MORE knife awards. :)
Check out the latest knife gossip and (un-verified) stories from the Eugene knife show on the podcast...
Nice reminiscence Podcast of the Oregon show, Mike, Neal and Rhid!!!!! You can all tell we had a joyous time there, folks!!
One of several knives I picked up at the show, this is Mike Moran's very first Barlow, and it was carried briefly by the Man himself (I suspect on a test run to see if it qualifies as a nice knife!! I can verify that claim!!)!! 😁 Now carried by me!!:cool:Mike Moran First 1.jpg

Very Nice Case Tested Neal. both yourself and Charlie are right on the money, Case put out such good knives earlier on in the piece.

Both Mike's first Barlow and Evans version of the curved Russell Barlow's have to be a handful of knives that would be hard to take in all at once Charlie, I imagine myself that these knives would have to be on top of the Desk over quite some time to "soak them in" a bit.

Gorgeous, it was a privilege to view them in person that's for sure.

Well, the latest Catch Bit Show was a hoot, it was even more special as I could actually think back and envisage everything what was said! What a great Show!

Thanks to Rhidian the latest guest co-host and to Mike and Neal once again for giving us something very cool to listen to.
