301is my pigeon, but 303 or a small lockback would be fine.

I changed my vote from 303 to 301. I already own a Case Bose Cattle Knife and carry it often so a smaller high quality stockman would be a neat addition to my knife family.

Jason, I believe the 303 is the smaller knife of those two. I also think the 301 might be larger than the Case/Bose Cattle Knife.

301 for me as well. I think a lot of guys would love the 501, but I just got a custom shop 501 so I'm going with an upgraded stockman...

See the photo below for the models we are voting on.

Thanks for the comparison shot! Any chance of a version with all knives closed? (Since they're carried closed, I find that view at least as useful in deciding whether a knife is something I'll carry.)

I voted for a 501, but could also go for a 503. Just not a stockman guy and don't have many lockbacks.

When the votes are tallied it might make sense to look at the models that are similar to each other as well as individual knife totals.

Buck has not been chosen as the manufacturer of the 2018 BF Traditional Knife, but in order to choose between Buck and GEC, we need a preferred model chosen to vote on.

So, battle it out and choose the best Buck option. You will be able to change your vote if someone sways you. Poll will be open until Friday 4/27/18.

Remember, this is choosing a Buck model to be voted on against a GEC model. I've included the "cost" of each as a base model. Just out of the gate, you can see which options will more expensive. This does not include steel choices or scales.

SEE PHOTO A FEW COMMENTS DOWN FOR COMPARISON

Why no fixed blades? 113, 102, come to mind.

I would also vote for a 113, if it were available. As it stands now, I would go for a 301. But that is only due to the 113 not being there.

Question about the price points: do we know if the $100 mentioned in the other post is a true cap and if so do these options all fall within that range assuming there may be some options that add cost?

I voted 303, it's about the perfect size to me with its 3 1/4". My second choice would be the 301, although its significantly bigger with 3 7/8" , I just love stockmen. Err stockman knives

And to be fair all other models would be excellent choices too:thumbsup:

I voted for the 301, though the 303 is a close second. They're cost efficient, utilitarian, and with upgraded steels and flat grinds they would make for amazing users. Go, 300 series!

I voted for the 501. I think a lockback would be a great addition to the Traditional Forum Knife family. Buck’s lockbacks are icons, why not pair them together?

I voted on the 501. In my neck of the woods, Buck has always been synonymous with lockback. Plus, I'm not the biggest fan of the stockman pattern. Buck's clip blades are too truncated, in my opinion, on anything smaller than the 110, and I already have one of those boat anchors. 501 hits a sweet spot - lockback, not too big, not too small, fairly carryable.
