I like the idea of nice pocketable 301. The jack version sans Spey would be really cool but I’m good with I’d be ok with either way. Great to see how far this has progressed and thank you to all that are spearheading it!
 
I voted for the 503 because I've been grooving on small traditionals lately, and that one looks very watch pocket friendly.

The three current leaders (301, 501, 303) all appeal to me as well. I suspect the 303 will be about as watch pocket-sized as the 503.

The 55 that I saw the other day would have fit in my watch pocket. Just keeping your options open.
 
Looks like it's between the 301 and 501. Won't complain with either depends on if you want a Multi blade slipjoint or a small lock back. Voted for the 301 because a ffg premium steel and premium covers sound great. Stockmans are my favorite tradional but a Buck lockback has always been my outdoor knife and on my belt when I carry a smaller folder. Bucks SFO custom shops are killer here's my 110. Love this shield would love to see one on this knife. image.jpg
 
I wonder if the voting should be narrowed? Either stockman or lockback?

Then, depending on which wins, it can be narrowed? 301 vs 303 or 503, 501, 55 or????
 
I went back and forth between the 301 and 501, and it pretty much came down to what I thought would be more "special"

So I went with 301.

Although I like the 501, I could go to the Buck site and build my own with Elk and S30V right now.

There is no stockman available to customize (as SK has pointed out previously). I'd feel like we made something more unique if we went the 301/303 route....even moreso if we could go with Charlie's idea of a Texas Jack (301 with clip/sheepfoot only).

With all of the options available, it isn't like we are missing anything in this poll. Those that want a Stockman can vote for such, just as those that want a lockback, albeit the one they want.

Those that voted don't need another poll at what would essentially be a previous state of the decision making. The people that voted for a particular lockback would vote generic lockback , and those that have voted for a particular stockman would vote for a generic stockman.
 
I voted 501 but I feel some notes are worth mentioning

532 is #1 pick but seems too limited by a higher base cost than the other options
501 so many nice things about it I "need" one
301 is cool but personally not sure I would be hugely interested unless there is something unique ie a bottle-opener on it

The remaining options I just don't see myself having interest in
 
didn't vote because I'm OK with any of the choices posted - but I REALLY like the idea of a carver/whittler version of the 301/303.
the 113 is actually my least favorite of the options posted.

The only Buck knives I have are a 303 that I inherited after my grandfather died and a 505, 506 and 526 that I got as part of an auction of a group of knives that are a bit small for me for carry. I'm not a big stockman fan and I loves me some back locks, so I voted for the 501, but I think I'd be equally happy with the 503 or 55, and would consider the 112 depending on the price. Shoot, the stockman might not be my favorite pattern, but I'd probably go for either of those just to have something special to carry now and then akin to what my grandfather carried.

Yes, the photo was very helpful as I am unfamiliar with many of the models. SK, thank you for taking the time to create that.

Tomboy's post captures the sense of the way I feel. I'm not organized at all when it comes to Buck knives. I could probably be talked into just about any of the models.

Regardless of price, I would stay away from the 110 and 112 models as making them "special" will be expensive.
 
301 is my vote, I'm in depending on cost and timing. A nice wood would be my preference; they already have desert ironwood in house so that would be an option. CPM-154 or 20CV (although S30V wouldn't break my heart).
 
The 501 is getting lots of votes! Can we possibly open it up to two options and then do a final vote? That way people can vote for one of the lockbacks and one of the stockmans...
 
I voted for the 110. After seeing the results i changed to a 301 to avoid throwing my vote away. I agree with the sentiment that i would be happy with any option presented. Thanks to all those who are making this a reality.
