Stuff I have personally used:
Busse & Kin heavy choppers, Cold Steel bowies & Kukris, SOG SEAL Pup did save my life once (close call with fishing line while swimming). Lots of great choices out there, try out whatever interests you and go from there.

Busse TGLB would be my choice too. I'm surprised there aren't more pics in this thread.

It may not be my #1 pick for any 1 task, but if I needed a knife I could count on to not break, I'd count on the modified BK2, The Becker Wood:

My favorite survival/camp knife would be my Becker BK2. Or rather, it was up until I received my Swamprat Ratmandu. That said, my BK2 is still in my go bag, because you just can't have too many indestructible knives, amirite?

Please look at your current poll results. When a majority of your responders select "other", it really means that your
current poll selection is inadequate. You are missing a chance to actually find out what fellow BladeForum viewers like.
I see two good options for you: 1) It's time for a new poll with several more specific brands added.
2) Or better yet: Create a new poll where responders do not make a selection but, instead, write in their selections.
Then, you can put those results in an Excel file and calculate the knife makers and place them in a bar graph.

Other. French Chefs knife. I use it everyday to prepare the food which is necessary for my survival.

Not to be a ass but a sharp strong mind is of more use in a survival situation then a sharp , strong knife.
That being said BK&T.

Depends what your willing to spend...

Around $300: Busse (ex. Mean Street)
Around $200-$250: GSO (ex. 4.1 - 5.1)
Around $150: Swamp Rat (ex. RMD)
Around $100: ESEE (ex. 3 or 4)

These are my picks anyway.

If we're being honest, there are many great outdoor utility blades. You're not going to run into a job that requires a specific knife. You're not likely to notice a difference in performance between one great knife and another. There is no "best". There are only capable, incapable, and preference.

there is a poll down at massdrop where you can vote for your best survival knife and after 200 votes they contact the vendor on the groups behalf and there is already 184 votes, only 16 more votes to go! This is the live poll link dro.ps/v/W7Msx0Z
