I have a 392, 450, 561, 562 566 and a 770 not one has failed, my only issue has been with the 450 if the screws on the clip get slightly loos the clip can move over the lock bar and make the knife more difficult to flip, tighten the screws and all is well

When you used the correct side of the blade it didn't fail.

I shared my experience, again surprised how easily the knife failed in use. My dogs not in this fight so I won’t waste your time arguing what happened.

Overall I think ZT puts out a good product, clearly some people have examples of situations their knives didn’t live up to expectations.

I have 85 knives in my collection worth almost $20,000, and the ZTs are fine knives. People should buy, check them out, and then rest easy. They are great knives.

I recommend the ZT 0095TANBLK in S90V if any are left. Excellent knife.
Agreed ~ I’ve had my ZT0561 Elmax blade steel for 2+-years and it’s been 100% in every way used (& I’ve been a daily and rough user of this knife, it’s my edc!).

I have no dog in this race either. If its poop Ill be the first one to admit it. If something bugs me about a knife, Ill sell it! I m not going to talk myself into dismissing failures or features I don't like to justify my purchase.
I've owned about 9 ZTs and Ill be the first to recommend them. In my personal opinion, I consider them one of the best bangs for buck you can find hands down next to Spyderco. I think the 566 is one of the best knives I've ever owned. One would be hard pressed to find a stronger design than Ken onions 301, and Id have to place a 392 up there as one of the most attractive of all time.
How did I vote? I voted yes.
I actually do have one I gotta put the "fail" stamp on and that one is my 561.
Loved her with my heart and soul but she didn't love the salt water. The bearings started rusting immediately.
Brown rusty fluid was always present around the pivot area and eventually it just became unsafe to use because it would fail to flip open or shut all the way.
I can't believe they would make this knife with such high quality materials and then skimp on the bearings.
I can see how some would consider this abuse, and I would agree to a point but I've seen to many pictures of other 561s that have rusty bearings...maybe they were fishermen too?

Yup, but just one and it was more that the blade wouldn’t hold an edge, and this was for office use. Think envelopes, box opening and lunch prep. Loved the knife but had to put it to the side and carry something else.

Bearings are Carbon steel. Keep them lubed. I have not heard of ss bearing. Has anyone?

ZT has lived up to my expectations by failing to meet my needs every time I have considered one of their products.

Not a big fan of ZT at all. So, yes ZT has failed me.

While I dont like ZT, I was gifted a 562 and a 801, when the spine whack video hit, I tried it with both, and they didnt fail, I also use the 562 as my beater knife, and it has been great

My ZT 0561 has for o ver 2-Years been Rock Solid!! I’m the original owner/no mods and zero ‘play!!’ Love it for my edc

No turtle, no response. ;):D

I've never had one that would fail. I did have a 561 that had some up and down play, but the lock itself never failed. I was at least the second owner and it was pretty heavily customized by the previous, although I don't really think the changes affected the lock up.

I think my brother might have had one model where the lock would fail. I'll double check on that later. Even if i'm remembering correctly, that one instance did not dissuade him and ZT's make up one of, if not the most of anyone one brand of folders in his collection.

I have a bunch of stainless bearings... I may be mistaken, but pretty sure zt bearings are stainless. Shirogorovs are stainless too.
