This presents a tough one for me. On one hand, it is said that one shouldn't ever pass up a CPK pre-order opportunity (and I haven't in recent history) - on the other, as much as I love swords (who doesn't?), I can't justify spending that kind of coin on a blade that will never get used. If one is a practitioner/enthusiast of the arts and/or a collector of antiquated martial weaponry, I totally get it though.

With me, it will never get used for its intended purpose and since it is a weapon and not a tool, there isn't much point in me leaving the sidelines for this one.

That all said, I eagerly await all the pics - I have no doubt it's going to be a dandy. I'll stow away the coin for another day - preferably for when some sort of a chopper is getting built (hint, hint ;)).

Sort of the same boat after some thinking, Id rather force a tool into the role of a weapon when the time needs be vs forcing a weapon into the role of a tool.
I understand what your saying. I'll buy one just because its cool and i want to see the beauty Nathan is going to create... not because I'm a samurai. For self defense a knife is similar to a pistol, its main purpose is to use it to fight your way to your rifle or after you run out of ammo. The CPkhuk I most likely won't. I have a chopper and a a hatchet that meets that need. Still cool but not up my alley.

OTOH, get one and if you really don't like it, easy to sell it. I do understand that it's a decent amount of money you won't have access to for a year or so if you get in on the preorder.

I’m hearing some crazy talk 🤪 No use for a waki? They are excellent for clearing brush and slicing inanimate objects in half. Now the K18, that on the other hand felt, imo, that it required a true professional to wield. The hilt was long enough to get a awesome two handed grip, but I dare not sink it into a tree for fear of removing it if it got stuck. A delta 3V waki though? That will see use!

I am already shopping for a double crossed back scabbard harness for a pair of these…….

Does anyone know if wood handles are a possibility?
You make any headway on a double carry option? I feel like Chad Pirtle @pirtlemade might be an excellent candidate for this endeavor

I am in now, I asked in Germany at the customs. Normally you can own swords, you can buy them and put it in your house, but it is not allowed to have it in public. If you go in public you must have the sword in a box locked, that nobody can use it. Therefore It is allowed in Germany, I am in

A pommel to match the K18 would be a nice touch……

Honestly I am hoping it is a cutter and not an overengineered K18. The K18 is superbly balanced and completely bulletproof, but it was designed solely for the Knife or Death course, which... is not the same thing as being a well-designed sword for sword things, and a wakizashi of roughly similar size and the same weight would I think just be too heavy for a wakizashi.

Would I still buy it... yes.
