I chose hastily, but now I am thinking the talon hole looks wrong on #2. If it was more like the one on the hogmuck pic, I think it would be a winner.

No doubt about it...#1 for me!! I like the overall profile and balance better for my little girly hands!! Thanks for letting us vote, Boss!! :D

For a blade this size, I thinl 2 would be more practical. I don't like the coil on small knives.

Definitely #1, but if you are going to have a choil at all it needs to be usable, otherwise it might as well have none at all. The HRLM was an example of a useless choil: too small to use for choking up, but moved the blade farther away from the handle. My hope is for #1 with a choil big enough for choking up!

This was one of my favorites and wish i had kept it.

Based on what is shown, I had to go in favor of #1.

I definitely like the thumb ramp, but... Is it just me, or does anyone else think that this ramp might be better if pushed forward a little bit more towards the plunge line??(terminology check in asle 5!) ...It's probably me, isn't it... LOL :o

Thanks Brother. I was going to do this same thing, but I'll just quote you so I don't have to type that many # 1's. Hey... I'm lazy:thumbup:.

Number 2-- absolutely no question, superior design.

Number 1 is great looking. For that matter, the old SOG Bowie pattern is great looking. But it capitalizes on being great looking first and useful second. ;)

NUMBER ONE IS AWESOME!!!!! About that BOLO......payment in MonteCristo's or Cohiba's? The REAL ones ;).....

#1 for sure!

I love that tip!

maybe a smaller choil, but thats it!:thumbup::thumbup:

Remember Jerry! DC and GREEEEEEEN OD man, green OD!!!!!!!!!!!!

A real Busse with a less pronounced talon hole and, more importantly, without the humongous choil would be a dream come through. So #2 it is. Please!!

Is it just me, or does anyone else think that this ramp might be a better if pushed forward a little bit more ......??

No, it is not just you. I absolutely feel the ramp NEEDS to be pushed forward.

I have scaled this to size and I know the middle part of my thumb would fall right on the peak of the ramp - not behind the ramp. I would have to grind the ramp off. I have had this problem with most Busse (and kin) blades that had a ramp.

The only ones that really works for me is the Swamp Rat RMD and the HRLM. But, on those two, my thumb actually falls forward of the ramp. I have never really seen that, but I find it functional. The HRLM actually has a thumb recess forward of the ramp, but the recess was too small and needed to be elongated and shallowed out.
