Pond Scum goodness...

I love this thread. That scale is so unique in shading.


Maybe someone can answer if the the "top" darker color is bluish?

I tried to do that - missed a Gen 3 w/ pond scum by mere minutes.. I was the first "I'll take it" here but must have missed it on another forum perhaps..

Went from elated to crushed in moments.
 
Happy Birthday Vvilliam, I also had mine recently,as you get older the time between them sure flies by! I'm sure the Pond Scum goddess will eventually reward you with your persistence, I also bought mine that was already on an XM 18, originally I was not too fond of the color, but now it is my favorite color. Working around the garden it seems right at home you just have to keep it on a short leash, it like to play hide and seek with the plants.

SOOOO true!!! I was out in the woods this weekend. Made sure I put the orange hunting suit on before I went :)

Ooh man. The guy's pushing a hard bargain. I might have to buy the entire knife plus accessories to get it. If anyone wants an extra sterile slicer, you know who to call haha.
 
^ Thats often what you have to do to get some of these rare scales. Fortunately it is really easy to get your money back on the knife after you get your desired scale. Good luck!!!
 
I don't think I'll ever part with mine (willingly) so I understand every hoop you guys are jumping through to score these things. It's much like textured Ti except this color G10 cannot (as far as currently evidenced) be made again.

Supply and demand sucks sometimes. For a while now, trying to get my hands on smokeless powder - of any kind, much less stuff I'd prefer - is super tough. I really had to bite my tongue several times yesterday dealing with an "eccentric" individual who I finally tracked down that had some stuff I really wanted but was a real peach to work with..

Back to the pond, I certainly agree w/ N2K, it's all that more precious since there's no chance of making more.. But, if you can swing it, it's doesn't hurt to have more than one XM ;)

Just noticed the birthday post...William; happy belated.

I'm still kicking myself a bit for not getting more of these back when I got mine.

Never knew I'd have multiple XM 3.5s at that time...WANT was there, but I don't do too much hopeful assuming.

Fast forward...now a guy that carries a minimum of 2 XMs will not have a matched pair of 3.5s. But that's Ok...really....I'd rather one of you guys get your first than me get my second.

Anyway, communication with the guy with the pond scum knife is going slowly but surely.

Seriously, it's driving me crazy haha. He hasn't responded since last. I'm guessing he's in a really different timezone, or at work.
